Ford chat rep claims trim / model change will require new reservation

Hopefully its just a mistaken rep, I'm betting they're saying change model thinking Bronco Sport to Bronco which you can't do. Most of these reps know nothing about cars, or what's going on, only what they read on the script in front of them.

It has been stated several times you can change. If not I am out for 2021. Put in for OBX at reservation time but going badlands for many reasons. No way I would get an OBX now.

Changing models would be going to a Mach E or GT500 would it not? Bronco is a model, can’t see why a change of trim level would matter at all. Just my $0.02

Ok, but the original post says if you change MODELS, bronco vs bronco sport is a model change. It did not say a change in TRIM level.....

I am not making any excuses for Ford, I think they are missing a lot of opportunities to kill it with Bronco. That being said, I know they are having capacity issues between the F150 launch and Covid, their resources are strained. Everyone is remote, suppliers are struggling, lots of moving pieces. I would take everything with a grain of salt right now and don’t get worked up until you have too. Just my 2 cents.

I went to the Ford Chat and asked about model change and this is what she sent to me.

Customers can make changes to their vehicle configuration such as door options, interior/exterior color, powertrain, and accessories when they place their order at their selected dealership. If a customer wants to change their model at this time, they will need to cancel their original reservation and make a new one. Their reservation place in line will be based on the new reservation OR they can wait for the possibility that a process is put in place.

AT THIS TIME is what it clearly says, meaning if you want to change your trim right this second you need to cancel and reserve a new one. If you want to change later just wait for December when you order you can change your trim. Jeez y’all need to read it slowly next time lol Nothing has changed, the world is not ending, and you can change trim when you order

Reading it again, it sounds like you can change when you place your order, which was always the case. What is different here? Who would reorder just to change the picture on the reservation screen?
