From what I’ve seen from folks I work with, buying other manufacturers vehicles, it’s a really wide spread dilemma.

MY21, welcome to 2022. MY22, welcome to 2023.

Well folks, it looks like we have more time to save money. On the bright side, everyone that has disciplined themselves and put money aside on a regular basis, will have a small note or none at all 😃

Local Ford dealers near me are bare bones on inventory. It looks like a ghost town.

Man, China can really hold the entire world hostage (so-to-speak). Countries not named China should probably start producing their own stuff.
in theory, yes. but no one can match china's cost, so unless everyone is willing to pay 20%+ more for literally everything, we're beholden right now.

Oh, certainly and it would be quite rough, the whole economy of said countries would essentially need a hard reboot. America made everything in the 1950's and thus the products cost more (relatively speaking) but the economy was also as such that factory jobs paid enough for folks to afford a home, kids and a stay at home wife.

Disclaimer: I have a very limited understanding of economics in this regard - I am just a salty millennial who sees everything getting worse, not better. Aka a house near me was just shown SEVENTY TIMES in 48 hours. sold for over asking price. in Cash. What a great time to be in your mid 20's

I sold my F150 to a dealer on Thursday so playing musical chairs with our cars, bought the wife a new one before there is NO inventory, then using hers for trade for whenever the Bronco shows up instead of the truck since its paid off. Oh and we bought a non Ford which I haven't done since I bought a Mazda like 2004 wasnt by choice, but there is no Ford inventory.

Good news coming out of Arizona on that front.

Pretty much the same here. The nearest is part of a big chain and they are normally STUFFED with vehicles. Literally several hundred new at least at all times.

2 weeks ago, pretty full. They even had a CyOr Ranger! Lol

This week about 50% or less.
