Ford engineers confirm production Bronco will get 2.7L engine and 10R80 10-speed auto transmission

I put my $100 down but is no one else really concerned that the new Bronco's going to have the 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission ? Isn't that transmission garbage? Having found out today it comes with that transmission i'm asking myself if i really want a Bronco if i have to have the 10R80 and all the problems it has. Should I be concerned?

It is the 10R80. I have 0 concern. Million vehicles out there on the road with it.

Both GM & Ford use it
I own 3 vehicles with it & no issues
Not sure where you heard it was troublesome because that is not correct

There's a class action lawsuit over it which was filed in January, no other news regarding that has come about.

carcomplaints.com do seem to have a low # of complaints though.
2017 had 5 transmission complaints
2018 had 10
2019 had none for transmission
2020 has zero complaints at all.

I have had no such issues with any of my vehicles
However I always reprogram (tune) my vehicles
The recalibrations vastly the throttle response & the trans programming as well
But also know a lot of people who have them stock with no issues
You probably do not want to hear this from me but I suspect the guy who filed the lawsuit was a jerk-wad who hired an ambulance chasing lawyer to file it

I, too, heard this but I’m pretty sure it pertained to vehicles manufactured before 2018. In 2018, there was some sort of change and lots of people have been happy without any complaints.

The vast majority of the reason for the law suit is “loss of resale value” not because for didn’t try to fix it or that some one got hurt or broke their vehicle.

Zero concern this is the same transmission ford and Chevy built together thats in the mustang and Camare I beleave as many other vehicles they both have

It runs a stock 2018 mustang gt in the 11s. I think we'll be just fine with it.

Yes, the 10R80 is stout, an excellent performing auto trans. As stated above, it rips in the Mustang platform. I was very happy when I heard it would be in the Bronco.
