Link to specific test if anyone's interested. There are 5 schedules used to determine the city/highway ratings.

Fun Fact: Manufacturers test and certify their own fuel economy ratings. The EPA then conducts their own testing to verify on only 15%-20% of all vehicles

Yikes, the numbers for the 2.7L are only slightly better than my 5.7L V8 Durango.

What's the point of expensive, more-problematic turbocharging if it saves you diddly squat over normal aspiration?
normal aspiration sucks at altitude where people like offroading

I wonder if they will even EPA certify a SAS equipped Bronco.

I’m praying the 2.7 is a tad better than the f150. 2.3 should be close to the ranger

Well if Ford it trying to compete with Jeep, Rubicon Unlimiteds are getting mid 20s with their 4 and just under 20 with their 3.6.

So I hope, at least for my sake, they do better or at least what jeep does.
Look up Wranglers on Fuelly.com. They may be rated for mid-20's mpg but that's not at all what they are getting real life.

But it doesn't suck as much as if it were at sea level. Hence the benefit of blow.

I think Jeep tests a Sport with 29” tires for their fuel economy ratings. Rubicon’s won’t even get close to the sticker.

Isn't the test done on a dyno? And the max speed for the highway portion is like 60mph.

I've hit 24mpg in my F150 at 55-60mph on secondary roads over a 50 mile stretch (and 23.5 over 75miles with the last 25 miles in 4wd at the same speeds). crew cab, 4wd, 5.0. with about 1000lb between passengers, dogs and luggage.

I've found that I can usually exceed the EPA numbers but only if I literally drive the speed limit on the highway and drive like I have an egg under my foot in the city...and that is sections of the highway where the speed limit is not 70+mph.

Either way, if you're that concerned about mpg, this probably is not the right vehicle for you (not you specifically, just in general)
I’m not too worried about MPG. I want a manual, so I’m limited on an engine choice.

MPG is irrelevant unless way off the road. Promise a carrier for this on the spare tire carrier will be available aftermarket...

One thing to remember about all Ecoboost engines; you can have eco or you can have boost. Your can't have both at the same time. Drive it easy and you can get advertised fuel economy. If you get into it a lot, you won't come close. They are fun to drive though.

I did...that's where I got the numbers along with real world numbers from people that owned them or were reviewing them.

Issue with fuelly right now is that don't have that good of a 2021 JLU sampling.

Even if I Squatch a 2door, I gotta believe it will be better than a 5.7L Tundra CrewMax.
