See, they are getting better, last year it was over 100k per vehicle.

This is misleading and sensational at best. It's taking the total cost of the factories and tooling to build their EVs, adding the material and labor costs, and dividing by the number sold.

It's like saying the first Mustang off the line lost xxx Million dollars, but the 2nd one only lost half that.

The Mach-E is a reasonably decent vehicle, Ford completely blew the marketing by calling it a Mustang. Just Mach-E would have been fine.

The E-Transit is a very good electric delivery van.

Rumor is they have a small (i.e. not an F-150) electric pickup in the works. Hopefully it will be something "90's Ranger" size.

Nothing new here. The limits of electric cars are too numerous and the dollars required to buy one are also way too numerous. They are fine niche options but as a replacement to a useable car they are not.

Good point.... I don't think this should turn to politics if we keep in mind that this was done for monetary reasons, not political reasons... there was plenty of money to be made on this.

Lol, you can't have it both ways. It is the result of ideology and not market driven. It doesn't matter whether you care about politics or not but it is absolutely "about politicians regulating what kind of car I need to drive."

Given the average use case for how people drive (every day driving to and from work) an EV makes lots of sense, with a couple caveats.

Most of the population that can actually charge at home can make it work with little effort.

The biggest issue is that people hate change and act irrationally when it comes to this stuff because they don't understand it or don't care to understand it.
