Considering that the Sport and the main Bronco share just about nothing and aren't even built in the same country much less have any development or production connections, it seems pretty unlikely that one has anything to do with the other. If Ford is halting Sport Badlands models, then it probably has something to do with that model's specific content. Maybe the 2.0L motor, maybe the twin clutch RDU, but either way, that has little impact on the regular Bronco.

Incidentally, I saw a Bronco Sport on the road today while driving my dad to Home Depot. We decided we're just going to refer to them as Bronco II's...

As a driver of a bronco ii, I find this offensive. You can refer to then as bronco iii's.

Well, you go down that rabbit hole, the bigger Broncos should then be Bronco IV's. But in my line of thinking, the smaller model fits in the same segment of the market as the original B2, and the bigger one in sort of the same place as the BB. I dunno, doesn't particularly matter...

Well, that would probably more be the upcoming Explorer Timberline, from what I've managed to gather so far...

I mean.. the new full-size broncos are a new generation of the old full-size broncos. So they're still Broncos. Even though the new full-sized Bronco is based on the new ranger platform, the new rangers are much bigger than the old rangers. The Bronco ii's were a new type of smaller Bronco based on the old (smaller) ranger platform. They were not a new generation or replacement of full-sized broncos. And I would say a 4-door cross-over Bronco Sport based on the escape platform is different enough to be considered a Bronco iii, not a Bronco ii. If it was meant to be a new generation of Bronco ii, Ford probably would have eluded to that/named it that. I see your logic, but your rabbit hole seems a little crooked. Respect the Duece. If I tell my ii what you've said, she might not make it till I take delivery of the new one. Death by broken heart.

Well, like I said, it doesn't really matter as it was a joke between myself and my father anyway. Anyway, the Bronco II evolved into the Explorer, which later evolved into a CUV. So clearly, Ford never intended to reuse that name. But anyway, don't take it too seriously...

Doubtful. Ford has been compiling Bronco parts for months now getting ready for production. They have all they need for the next several months of production.
Well, except dual tops, mod tops, Squatch option, 2 doors, leather seats or Lux pack! Lol

Stuff like these makes me feel better about delaying to ‘22 for the Mod top. With my order having BL, Lux, Squatch...something like this was bound to delay it to ‘22 anyways
