Ford made a change in 2 Dr tops ?

My '23 2Dr Badlands has been at Town & Country Ford in Bessemer Alabama since November January 13th. I dropped it off then to have the 2nd replacement top put on, but when they went to install it the locater pin and all mounting holes were in the wrong spots. The newest one that should have been installed today has the same issue. They tell me there is no distinction in the part numbers so all they can do is try again, but they cannot find any information that ford has made a change in the mounting design. This all seems strange to me. It looks like I will be without my Bronco for a min of a month and that's if we get lucky and the next one fits. I have a trip coming up Feb 14th weekend and will be really P.O'd at that point if it still has to sit there, Has anyone heard anything about a design change ?

Id tell them you need your vehicle and when they get the correct top in youll bring it back. Its not a safety concern so they dont have any grounds to keep it.

It doesn't have a top. They had the glass removed and installed in the new top then started scrapping my old top before they found out it would not fit . Believe me , if it wasn't either 12 degrees or raining out I would just go get it.

They ordered the rear cap/top for the 4 door not the 2 door is my guess.

M2DZ-98502G33-AA was replaced by M2DZ-98502G33-CC, but this was back on 11/15/22
It doesn't tell me what was changed, but I would be extremely surprised if the locator pin location was changed... that means they would have to change the whole body i would guess.

Yep the glass fit and was the 1st thing I had asked. You would think the order would be tied to the VIN but I have no idea.

Yeah that's what's strange to me. It doesn't make sense that the hole locations have been moved on the body itself.

Actually now that I think about it... It's impossible that it wont fit, or that the pin locations are different

Because you cant even order the old part number anymore, It's been replaced by the new one. So that means the original part number and the new one have to mount the exact same
Otherwise Ford would make some type of note saying something else needs to be replaced to make the new part fit.

Joking aside, this post would be a lot better if we had some pictures to see what the issue was. I assume the dealership didn't provide any? Would be surprised if they didn't take any though.

Yeah pictures would be nice.
But regardless, I think there’s only 3 4 possible scenarios

1. Dealer somehow ordered a 4dr top
2. Dealer ordered the correct top, Ford sent the wrong top.
3. Dealer is lying about it not fitting for some reason

Edit: 4. I guess it could be damaged and not lining up also, but that wouldn't really explain why they said the locating pins have moved.
