If you were going to buy a side step because your wife is....well in need of step. Would you buy the Ford step or the 4WP?

Well, that will depends on your preferences.

I like more the OEM proposal because it has the Bronco name stamped on it. But the my preference.

Really don't know about quality or which one is more practical.

I’ve seen both in person. The 4WP side-steps are bigger, and more durable. It all depends on your intended usage.

I personally got the 4WP side-steps for the extra parking lot protection. But they’ll also help me from bashing my truck on the trails.

Ford Bronco Ford or FWP side steps? 1627662383818

Its even Cyber Orange.

Sidesteps are absolutely brutal to your ground clearance. Keep that in mind if you plan on off-roading. Its the feature I like least on my Tremor and they would already be gone if I wasn't about to sell the truck.

With that said, go OEM. They are really nice looking and seemed really high quality when I used them in person.

agreed. I scheduled a test drive for my wife 3 days ago and it had the oem side step. If you look at them from the outside, it looks big enough. BUT if you are inside and attempt to use them when exiting the bronco, they are unusually small because they way they are tucked under the door.

power steps are an oem option on the F150 and I have them on my wife's lariat. 3.5 years running and no issues. When they come from the factory, they are hard wired into the center cluster/menu.

there are 2 issues here:

- isn't the bronco on a new platform? In others words, the current Ranger is on the old platform and will get the new platform next year.
- also power steps aftermarket plugs into the OBD port and not hard wired

That is a great question. When I referenced the Power Steps I assumed they would be making a version to fit the Bronco. I referenced the Ranger version simply as an example of the technology.

I was not aware of this, I would prefer hard-wired...
