Yes it has always been VIN locked. Not the ProCal itself, but the tune.

As far as the warranty is concerned... it effectively works in-tandem with your new vehicle warranty. Or said another way, it doesn't add/extend any existing warranty, BUT it also won't void your factory warranty.
Thank you, have another question.

So the ProCal is capable of doing multiple tunes? Asking because I also have an Explorer ST and would like to tune both the Badlands and ST. If the device can do both, seems logical I could buy a tune only for the ST if I already owned the ProCal.

Not sure why my brain didn’t register that with the warranty previously. Both my vehicles are within warranty period but would be a reduced value if I was considering the ProCal warranty a value add. Are there other unique things that only ProCal can do that a competitor such as ZFG couldn’t?

I installed the Pro-Cal tune in mid-June on my '24 Badlands, and it has rev-matching. That was very handy while towing on a long trip to the PNW early this month. The auto-start stop button setting stays put as well.

The extra power has also been noticeable and welcome.
This is the weird part. It’s inconsistent.

Yes (with restrictions), but moot point because none of the tunes are sold stand-alone. If you buy the tune it also ships with a ProCal4.

Not sure why my brain didn’t register that with the warranty previously. Both my vehicles are within warranty period but would be a reduced value if I was considering the ProCal warranty a value add. Are there other unique things that only ProCal can do that a competitor such as ZFG couldn’t?
Not really.

Overall the Ford Performance tunes are relatively tame, but that's a big reason why people like them. Doesn't impact factory warranty, doesn't require intercooler upgrades, doesn't require cold air intakes, doesn't require you mixing your own E30 fuel, etc. etc.

yeah rev matching was one of the main reasons I was going to get this, not worth the price otherwise imo

if older versions dont auto update, I kinda regret not getting one sooner ☹
Jsoa -- Sorry, *totally* off topic but where did you get the cue ball shifter in your profile pic? Does it keep the stock height of the shifter or raise it higher than the stock shift knob?

And to be somewhat on-topic, I have the Procal tune for my 2.3L Bronco and i actually deactivated rev matching; the pedals on our Broncos are actually set up nicely for heel and toe downshifting. It's fun!

it's from twisted shifterzs, and it does raise it slightly, imo it's a good change

Alright update for @Hkak45 et.al...

Rev Matching was indeed removed, as well as the setting memory for Auto Start/Stop. Any new purchases/downloads will now receive the new tune profile with those features removed. This appears to be a retroactive change and impacts all model years, 2021-2024.

If you downloaded the tune to your ProCal4 before the change was implemented—before July 2024—then you're safe and you won't lose those features. (Just don't lose your ProCal.)

Well crap. So I have a 21, but even if I buy a procal today, I wont get the Auto start feature?
My understanding is it updates pre-first install.

Have had the PROCAL saved for a few weeks, waiting for the end of the month before purchasing it. Rev matching was the main reason I was interested, everything else was just a bonus to me. Glad that I stumbled across the post before buying the PROCAL!!

Ford Bronco Ford ProCal is now 50 State CARB approved!! 1000004432

(Throwback to the good old days of gifs on the forum lol).

Thank you for the update. Looks like Ford will not be selling many of these anymore as they took away 2 of the best features.

So is this the reason they killed rev matching with the manual transmission? Seemed like one of the main perks for us manual owners
How does "heel toe" feel? Are the pedals close enough?
