Wish you the best with the allocations. Cheers. Happy new year!
Thank you for that but luck with our allocation is not needed on Broncos...

Happy New Year to you as well.

This has been an interesting ride with Ford's high's & lows...

If you can't afford $500 for a deposit you damn sure can't afford a $40k+ vehicle.

For me your correct, I cannot afford a 40k+ vehicle, but I can afford a $500 deposit on my basebase ?

I’m willing to bet that you can afford a 40k vehicle but are smart enough to know that a basebase will do what 95% of us will be doing with ours and you don’t give a shit about keeping up with the Jones.

I have been told by my dealer that unless I order something way out of the norm, they will not need an additional deposit. Makes sense, they don’t want to be stuck with something they can’t sell. I will not be ordering anything out of the norm ??

Typically I don’t put down a deposit on a vehicle, I buy one and drive it away. That has always cost me more than $500 and was mostly non-refundable. On the other hand, I got the opportunity to see and drive the car, gather research from others who have driven the car, and had the opportunity to walk away without penalty if it didn’t meet my expectations.

This isn’t a typical car purchase. If you want a typical purchase experience, come back in mid-2022.

im fine with that... just use your stimulus check from the government ..lol. so what are you losing
[/QUOTE
If anyone is buying a bronco and are planning on getting a stimulus check, then they are probably making a pretty serious financial mistake.
yep. Some of us get a check for ZERO. But I will apply it to the deposit!!

All y'all worried should cancel. I'll take the hit and continue to wait in line and pay more deposit. I do this out of the goodness of my heart for all y'all.
Oh, that Stroopwafel? In caramel it was "meh". #wink

If Ford had their act together maybe my wife wouldn't have had to strategically place 3 reservations in hopes of getting her 4dr BL CG w/ a white modular hard top. Either way, Im pushing forward with at least 2 of those reservations additional deposit or not in hopes that one is MY21 and the other being MY22. Its the only way I can keep her from buying a 4runner or JLU Rubicon.

It's pretty typical to put a deposit down on anything you custom order. And $500 is only about 1% of $50K, which is probably pretty close to the average MSRP. No big deal.

What does this statement even mean? I plan on getting a stimulus and I’m going to pay for my bronco in cash. What’s one thing have to do with the other? you could make 500k and spend 510 I could make 40 and spend 35, who’s better off.
It means someone has a more antiquated opinion about finances than they think they do. Last I checked it's actually $150k after deductions, which leaves quite a bit of headroom if you do it right.

But hey, if it makes them feel like they are better than some of the rest of us because of some arbitrary number like 'taxable income', more power to them I guess?

so, how does this work if you do the deposit and then before 3/17/21 decide to switch dealers (closer to home, PCS to hawaii from the mainland, etc).

how does the non-refundable deposit get moved to your new dealer?
