Dealership took care of the bolt. They didn't have touch up paint for it but luckily enough, I have 2 touch up pens so Repainted and almost can't tell. Will apply second coat and some clear at a later date.

So I recently bought a Braptor as a many know. Was excited as I traded a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X 2 door for the Braptor. Nothing but problems with it during the 4 months I had it. In the shop 8 times.
I thought Ford might have higher QC than Stellantis as I have had 8 ford's in my 40+ years of driving.
Long story short, took the Braptor to my Ceramic guy for ceramic and PPF the hood. Got a call last night. Need to come see this.
After a level one paint correction, you can see crap in the clear coat, small divits, and worst of all in my opinion, see photo.
How in the hell does this get past QC on the line and then PDI at the dealer?
Was not happy. If we hadn't been putting in a K&N air filter might have not seen this for a while. Right side is fine but you can see that movement has chipped away at some paint at the bracket..Ceramic guy hesitant to tighten bolt as concerned it could strip. Recommended Dealer do it.
Called the Sales GM at dealership and raised holy hell. Hopefully they fix this.

That's pretty sad and potentially a safety issue. A flying BRaptor hood on I-5 would be bad PR for Ford. Sadly, the price tag has very little to do with the quality of just abouyt anything anymore. The same UAW kids scew together 100k BRaptors as 33k base 2 doors. If you think they're stopping to notice a partially toghtened hood, that ain't happening. And dealer PDI pretty much consists of stripping the plastioc covers off the seats and carpet, running it through the wash rack and maybe checking to make sure all 4 tires are on it. When I ordered my last company car (a GM product), the dealer called me to tell me it would be in the next day. I had a couple hours open in the morning so I went and saw the silver Impala I'd ordered still on the carrier that had just pulled in. While I completed the paperwork, the dealer pulled my car off the transport, moving 3 other cars to do so and sent it back for PDI. In 45 minutes it was parked in front of the showroom, still wet in places, a gallon of tire shine on the blackwalls and a paper mat in the drivers floorboard. Between gas, the sash and pulling the plastics, there could not have been time to check the oil, let alone any fasteners. I guess they figure that's what warranty is for. Good luck with your Ford dealer, if it's anything like our local Ford dealer, they'll tighten the bolt and put a huge scratch in the fender.

Looks amazing! Sadly I’m amazed with the QC problems with Ford and sadly for me I have a Bronco and Aviator and both have had problems after problems.

My Bronco goes back next week, I have the slippage when you release brake peddle and from this forum seems like my rear drivetrain needs to be replaced. I think I’m going to start leasing again and hand it back, I sure wouldn’t care as much! So frustrating as I like the Bronco a lot ugh

So sorry to hear my friend! Seems like this is pervasive from manufacturer to manufacturer...
QC is gone and volume seems to be the number one focus...
Quality/reliability be damned..

Man - that braptor is gorgeous... hear you on the QC though... Ford QC is dogshit.. i am so disappointed in the things ive seen on here an experienced myself. I pointed out a glob of paint/indentation on my FE door sill the the week after I got it. They took pictures, promised me it would be addressed and nothing. Other little things here and there as well... theres a seam in the steering wheel cover, ive seen it on several other broncos as well, how does this shit fly??? They capitalized on the demand for this beautiful truck but no way in hell the car is up to par on quality for the price.

I’m a bit late on this reply but glad the dealership took care of the bolt for you. I’m in a similar situation with paint damage on my new BRaptor’s fender flares. Looks like it was missed during the PDI.

The American automotive industry needs to revisit Lean Six Sigma as a means to improve quality because it’s getting bad and resulting in escalating warranty and recall costs. Thankfully, Ford doesn’t seem as bad as that other American company, which is highly overvalued, and makes an overpriced moving dumpster.

US work ethic is at an all time low. Dealer prep is a joke. Have you ever watched it? However my Bronco seems assembled as expected so far. Only one misaligned part under rear tail lamp and I see no adjustment.

The definition of "perfection" is different to some of us. The Broncos mass produced and are not hand built like Rolls Royce or Bentleys- I am not sure they are either........

The "QC" are really the operators who are performing their daily jobs. Are they "perfect" in their work? No one is. QC can do their best with detailed instructions, operator training ,etc. The real work is the operators. QC cannot perform 100% inspection on everything. Cosmetic is especially difficult. Some defects are major when there are electrical issues, leaks, major drive train failure, etc. But defects are allowed in manufacturing- even with very good six sigma...........

My new 2022 Bronco is not perfect either. I love it for what it is. If I want better "perfection" I'll go for a Mercedes, Bentley or Rolls or something hand built- but I could never afford that as an everyday worker.

We barely caught this off the transport a month ago. Kansas City truck plant told them to ship after driver questioned them. Reached out to my rep who was completely uninterested in doing much. All we needed was a contact at the plant to get verification the repair they were trying to do was reattachment of the roof rib. Most likely when the rib was installed it sucked the metal down so they cut it loose to let the roof spring back then reattached. Not one f was given by the plant in terms of help because once it hit our lot it's our problem. Not carrier damage, just an unfinished repair at the plant's body shop. These people just don't give a shit...panel adhesive allover the door panel and right rear tire, multiple trim panels broken, door seals smashed and no thought of even leaving a note in the truck to help us figure out what was going on.

So yea, there're a lot of dealers out there not bothering to do even the most basic PDI before it goes in the showroom or on the lot. We've missed stuff from time to time but we at least do the PDI Ford is paying for.

I agree with your overall sentiment but when you’re paying in the Mercedes and BMW range for a Ford vehicle, there is a certain level of quality you expect. With that being said, I think my BRaptor is an amazing machine and Ford Performance got it right, in my opinion.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what that's a photo of. Did the ceiling fall off?

They pulled the B and C pillar trims off in order to drop the rear half of the headliner to cut the roof reinforcement rib off (it's glued on with body panel adhesive). If we were doing the repair by the "book", the whole headliner would have to come down to access correctly. Basically, they tried to do a half-assed job at the FACTORY.

The door opening seals are pulled off, rear of headliner hanging down, trim panels, broken trim pieces and hardware scattered around. This is a polar opposite example of the dirt mountain saga.

Took the headliner down to re-attach the roof to the rib (white stuff oozing out  ) Then never re-installed the headliner and trim.

I just want to say that this thread title implies that Ford once had good or even passable QC. I can assure you that's never been the case. And LOL at the people that accept shoddy QC because it wasn't manufactured by a German luxury brand. I can't Imagine living life with such low expectations of what your hard earned money is worth when spent on expensive goods.

Ford's QC has never been great, but I truly believe it's much worse now than it was. My '19 F150 has the distinction of being my first new Ford of many that made me question my usual choice of brand. Made the decision easier to order another Jeep versus the Bronco I thought I wanted but couldn't order at the time anyway.

My '15 Mustang has its nits, but I'm far more pleased with that vehicle than my truck.
