Heh, my dad hates seat belts and is always trying to circumvent them. He would probably just buckle the belt and sit on it rather that pull it over his waist and buckle up properly.

"I don't wear a seatbelt because if I'm in an accident, I want to be thrown free of the vehicle, it's safer that way"

This ridiculous statement was brought to you by a guy I know that firmly believed it.

I've disabled mine per the instructions in the owners manual. I hate wearing it when slowly driving down a dirt road in the woods. Risky, risky, risky, I know.............

You can turn off the chime entirely in the GR86/BRZ. One of the first things I did with mine :poop:

It's in the Bronco manual, it's about a 1-minute process, pretty much the same process as my 2004 F150.

I shake my head at all the negative feedback on the seatbelt chime. In todays world, it should be a non-issue. Even if Iā€™m driving down the road to my mailbox, I do up my seatbelt. I donā€™t care how short or quick of a drive it is.
I put mine on before I even start the car. Every accident scene Iā€™ve been to as a volunteer firefighter, if there was a fatality, almost all were not wearing a seatbelt.

I always throw mine on out of habit. This smell a lot more like a legal CYA recall then a practical one. If someone crashes without a seat belt on Ford can at least claim they did the recall. Eliminates a cause of action.

The very first thing I did on day 1 after delivery was disable the DRLs, the seat belt chime for all seating positions, and the stupid message about me checking the back seat for the children I plan on never having. If it involved less work I would have also disabled the stop/start permanently as well as my headlights defaulting to auto position after every start up.

IDK, I thought it was kind of fun before it got changed. :ROFLMAO:

My wife is the worst about wearing seatbelts and I thought about turning off the chime just so I wouldn't have to hear it. But because I apparently like her or something and would prefer she stayed alive, I left it alone and just nag her.
