Ford Denies Report That 2022 Bronco Will Lose Optional Navigation System In May

A Ford spokesperson says that the 2022 Bronco will continue to be built and offered with the optional navigation system, contradicting reports that have circulated online.

Ford Authority first reported that the navigation system on 2022 Ford Broncos built after May 2 would lose the option of a factory navigation system, citing sources familiar with the matter. When asked, though, Ford spokesperson Jiyan Cadiz denied the report.

“[The] 2022 Ford Broncos will continue to be built with navigation,” Cadiz told Carscoops. “We are looking at many options to help get vehicles to our customers sooner during this global shortage of semiconductor chips.”

Honestly, no navigation wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. I use Apple Maps or Google Maps via CarPlay anyways.

Maybe I’m an anomaly 🤷‍♂️

From what I remember when I rented a Fully Loaded Badlands on TURO, the factory nav utilizes the full screen and carplay does not.

CarPlay map takes up 3/4 of the screen. Plenty for a 12” screen.

When not using CarPlay, I do keep Nav on in the small screen to the right. I can’t say I use it much, but it’s nice that it’s there I guess.

chips that I can live without:

navigation
automatic climate control
auto stop/start
the little temp display on the heat/cool knob
all traction control government nannies
collision avoidance
adaptive cruise (sucks anyway)

i could probably go on... but if you could just ship me one that runs and drives and heats and cools, i'll deal with the rest LMAO!

Thank you for your wisdom.

BTW .. this is a similar topic. I have a 2021 F150 Raptor which Ford has announced they will not implement Blue Cruise so I am getting some money back as it was built into the price of the truck.

That's not how any of this works.

I don't know why the other thread got closed, probably because people started debating whether other folks wanted or needed factory navigation versus using your smartphone.

This was never about the Ford authority article. It was about the build sheet and it clearly stating that navigation was removed.

This has still gone unanswered.

The questions about navigation started when Ford added this to the order guide:

JOB 2 ORDER GUIDE UPDATES – Effective on all vehicles built on or after Job#2 (05/02/2022 – Subject to change)
● Added: Navigation Removal (59D)

I don't believe Ford has provided any explanation as to what this means.
