Isn’t that basically the Bronco Sport Badlands edition?
The Sport is such a generic looking SUV.
It lacks the form of the Bronco.

It’s not a problem to solve.
It’s a way to attract more customers to the Bronco.
Then It's a Bronco (something).

Like Bronco SPORT... Not a 'Bronco'

The Bronco is lovely and the Bronco can go topless/doorless!

However there are many who will never go topless or remove the doors for various reasons.

Should Ford add a Bronco variant that is exactly the same but with a fixed roof and regular doors that don’t come off?

Advantages:
1. Lower price
2. More weather resistant top
3. Better sound and temperature insulated
4. Take away sales from other fixed roof SUVs

Basically offer a version just as handsome and off road capable but with these advantages and without ability to go “naked”.

What do you think?
I think they should. It’s a smart move.
I totally agree!!
And they should name it........ Bronco Sport. Yep, that’s a great idea.

The issue would be the massive changes needed to the manufacturing line and the testing that would be needed to prove crash worthiness of both options. Would add to much to development costs.

You have a good benchmark of a fixed off roader (Toyota FJ) which flopped after the first year
FJ did decently well considering the economic landscape in which it launched.

You cannot possibly think the Bronco and the Sport look alike!?

I'd say no. There could be room in the Ford line up for another purpose built off-roader but if they wanted something like that maybe it would make more sense to be like a 4Runner competitor. Because as described that sounds like a 4Runner just maybe boxier

In my case, I have no interest in the removable top and would gladly purchase a Bronco with a non-removable top construction of the same materials (finish) as the body.
To me the advantage is avoiding any color fading and maintenance issues after a few years and not having an issue with wax on the body creating stains on the non-metal top material.

It won’t be cheaper because you’d have to get a return on the development costs along with adding complexity to the production line. I also think the cost of the steel, insulation, headliner, etc. would be more than the plastic currently being used. On top of that, I think the SUV it would take the most sales away from would be the Bronco itself.

the FJ also had a somewhat funky design which probably didn’t appeal to everyone. Bronco has a much more traditional design.

That is the beauty of the Bronco... you don’t want roof and doors off then don’t take them off. You want rugged with quiet and nice ride buy a “Bronco” Expedition. Majority of Jeep Wrangler owners never take doors or top off and I think Bronco owners will be the same way
totally agree

I find this thread to be completely bizarre. I have no idea what the OP is talking about.

"I don't ever roll down my windows, so Ford should offer one with fixed windows."

I’m not sure why this is so hard for you to comprehend? A fixed roof version of the bronco would basically be a 4 Runner/defender competitor and not a wrangler competitor. Most people prefer a fixed roof because it provides several advantages over a removable roof.

Ford already has a 4 Runner competitor in the rest of the world called Everest. If the bronco and Everest were both sold in the US, it would be a tough decision for me on which one to buy. Bronco looks better but the Everest would be better daily driver.

Because a "fixed-roof version of a Bronco" would be a completely different vehicle.

The B, C and D pillars would have all been designed in a totally different way. The doors wouldn't be frameless. It would have no need for a roll bar. The roof structure would be aluminum or steel. Then you have the issue of the rear, tailgate or hatch which affects design of the rear quarters, etc, etc...

Just opt for the color-matched painted hard top.

Im still trying to think of an SUV that was offered with both a removable top and a "fixed-roof".
