I would appreciate feedback from anyone familiar with the Ford Yakima Hitch Mounted Tilting Bicycle Carrier for 2 bikes. I will be installing it on my 2022 Ford Bronco Black Diamond. My understanding is that it will require an extension to clear the spare tire. I am told the 40-degree extension drop is sufficient to open the swing door with the rear mounted tire. If anyone any experience with this carrier, I would appreciate feedback.
I was initially looking to install a Kuat, NV Bike Hitch with a Kuat Pivot 2-2” swing away extension. Turns out this also needs an extension. I’m concerned that the 11” swing away bar and the 8”inch extension (extension required to also clear spare tire) would result in a wobblier connection than compared to the above Yakima Titling Hitch.
The intent is to keep the bike rack on all the time. I am thinking the Yakima Tilting will be less of an obstruction in the rear than the Kuat swing arm. Thoughts?
Any input would be appreciated and thank you for your time.
