FordPass Rewards Points Expiration Policy Change

Heads up that Ford has changed the FordPass Rewards Points expiration policy.

Effective October 1, 2024, the Points of FordPass Rewards members who don't have a FordPass Rewards Visa® will expire after 18 months of inactivity in their FordPass Rewards account instead of 24 months. This means if a member has not earned Points, completed a Tier Activity** or redeemed Points for 18 months, their balance will expire.

This update does not apply to FordPass Rewards Visa cardholders.

If you don't have enough for the kit, you don't have enough for installation.

I wasn't thinking the install would be over 900 dollars.
Edit : i have 212.99 dollars worth of points.

Did you get a quote? I would bet it is a 2 hour quote at minimum. Depending on your dealer's labor rate, it will be pricey especially if it takes them 4 hours.

With regards to using your FP Points, they are deducted at the redemption rate just like cash.

With regards to avoiding the expiry of Points, any transaction will reset the clock on the expiration. Buy a cabin air filter, oil filter, etc

I got a quote for 5 hours from Sil-Terhar in Co. I could sense they just didn’t want to do the install, and had said that because they hadn’t done one they would have to “figure it out”.

Ford service departments are far and away the worst I’ve ever dealt with.

Needless to say I used my points and got the portable kit instead.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t install myself, but would lose the warranty on the item if I did.

Can you use points to order from the Ford OEM parts site? I added something to my cart, but at checkout I can only enter a credit card number. I used them before at the dealership to pay for stuff, never tried online until today.
Am I stupid and missing something obvious?

Ford Performance and Ford Accessories portals accept FP Points. Or you could set up an account with Ruxer and utilize their B6G discount. They accept FP Points.

Those are milestones, not points. I have no idea what they're for but they're not redeemable on the stores for purchases.
