Hello everyone.

I don't live in the USA so I did not have a choice to spec my Bronco with a locker. It was either Badlands or Outer Banks with all the creature comforts. So I went with Outer Banks.

I want a rear locker and have been digging into how to get a rear locker.

Now I need some help. If anyone can help out I would very much appreciate it.

What I need is a screenshot of the forscan page for the AWD module settings (or several if there is more than one).

I need this for a 4x4 normal (not advanced) with open diffs on both ends, no sway bar disconnect and 10 speed automatic with 3.73 gears (pretty sure the gears have to be 3.73 with that configuration).

I will compare that to my configuration.

I want to see if I can add a (rear) locker and enable it in the GOAT modes. I have already figured out where to connect the locker.

If I am correct I believe by enabling the correct AWD setting, connecting the locker to the correct point, and changing the hero switch pack, I can "upgrade" to a rear locker integrated into GOAT modes while keeping the 3.73 gearing (I know I will need a new ring gear).

If I am successful I promise to do a nice writeup for anyone else to follow if they wish.

Thanks and regards,
Sam.

Nobody has posted it yet. I am hoping someone with the correct config will do so soon.

NEEDS to be the correct config because I need all other things equal so I can isolate what AWD setting enables the rear locker.

Is there a 3.73 rear locker? Seems the 4.27 gets selected when you choose a locking rear diff.

There is not.

@wintoon is in Mexico, they don't offer all six trims of the Bronco in Mexico, and of the trims they do offer, they don't get all of the options and upgrades we get here in the US and Canada.

Sounds like he wants to add a locker, and have that locker activate automatically when selecting the GOAT modes as it would with the factory configuration.

Honestly the GOAT modes are over rated. I just flip the lockers on and off manually.

Yes, but one thing I think is great about the GOAT modes is that they don't let you do anything stupid, like using a rear locker at high speeds, something that might happen otherwise.

Also... It will help greatly with my OCD if I can add this as if it were almost as if from factory.

I just need to check with forscan to be able to "enable" the rear locker. If so, there is just 1 pair cable that needs connecting from the AWD module to the locker.

If you have a rear locker please could you still post your Forscan data for AWD module? If we have a few people do this it *might* help to narrow it down, then with a little testing I might be able to figure it out... Please post your config (Base + Rear Locker) as well....

Thanks!

Here is as built data for a Base non-Sas no advanced 4wd and manual transmission. Looks like only one row is different?

Yes. Thanks. I will try this weekend and test the voltage in the AWD module. I will report back.

With a bit of luck it's as simple as just changing 703-162-02.

Thanks again!

Tim,

Thanks for all the help so far. Any chance you might be able to also post the following values as well please:
Instrument Panel Control Module
Accessory Protocol Interface Module

I am not sure if these make a difference since I do not have the hero switch pack yet...
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/switches/switch-14759503-1?pdp=y#/sectionId:395088949

Once it arrives (I am told around 60 days or so) I can test the button as well.

Thanks again!
