Honestly, that tailgate shows a complete lack of giving a shit. Multiple workers had to touch that tailgate to complete assembly. It’s obviously not correct and nobody cared enough to say anything. Imagine the less obvious quality defects that nobody cares about enough to correct.

I do t have Twitter but you guys that do need to tweet pics to Levine and let him know the quality controls is shit ford as a company is ranked under dodge now that’s pretty bad and Lincoln is real low on the list too

Day 1 reservation, been waiting long enough. Also, I already papered up on my trade in. Dealership has a body shop that will take care of it when I'm ready to give it up for a few days.

Fair enough. We have one in a similar situation with paint, just figured they would've fixed prior to since it's a major panel.

Not to sound like an arse but whatever you do, don't use any type of silicone cleaners or tire shines until they get it painted. That crap is hard to get completely removed and will fish eye the hades out of paint.

I’m guessing it’s such a crap-show there that middle or upper MGMT is telling them to let minor things through that the dealership(I mean stealership) network can fix. My 2cents

personally i would ask for a new factory painted tailgate and not just a repaint.. i think most dealerships outsource paint and body work.. A repaint is typically not as good as a factory paint..For the price we are paying for a new bronco I would insist on a factory painted tailgate regaurdless of how much of a pain in the ass for the dealership or Ford..

when this kind of stuff happens - can they review the VIN to identify every line worker that touched that vehicle, and specifically the ones who would have (should have) seen that unpainted tailgate? If so - they all deserve some kind of corrective action notice/written warning.

Much easier to have the dealer body shop handle it. I mean, how is the factory going to paint just a tailgate? They're not equipped to do so.

Took delivery yesterday and found an unpainted tailgate and fuel door. My sales guy said it's a new one on him, but he's seen some glaring mistakes before. He did enjoy having a story to perpetuate the Friday QC mythology.

I can only laugh at this. WTF? Like seriously how many along the lines missed this they should all be fired but wait union rules don’t allow that.
