1. Where does the front license plate bracket attach to the modular bumper?

2. Where do we find the steps that attach to the factory rock sliders? (as seen on SEMA build)

It is my hope that an aftermarket company comes up with a plate bracket that attaches to the three bolts on the bottom edge of the modular bumper, below the inlet. Easily removed when you go offroad.

That picture is not where the license plate will go...it will go on the bumper. The pic is only the alternate location, for when you have a winch attached. People ran with it on that thread and elsewhere...but it is not reality unless you have the factory winch.

From Ford: "Bronco designers and engineers pushed what really matters to our customers ā€“ maximum off-road capability and ease of installing off-road accessories. And to ensure a maximized approach angle without obstructing forward lighting, the front license plate is center-mounted on either the front bumper, or with the optional winch bracket, mounted just above the modular front bumper," Ford's Jiyan Cadiz told Motor1.com.

Can't help but notice that quote mentions "ON front bumper" and " ABOVE modular front bumper". That technically doesn't account for a factory option to mount a front plate ON the HD modular bumper.

It is a steel bumper. You can put the license plate anywhere you want.

I'm not sure what you mean. "On front bumper" "technically" means exactly "on front bumper". No other way to interpret that. "On" is specifically mentioned as for vehicles without a winch; "above" is specifically mentiond for vehicles with winch. No ambiguity. No open space.

My point is that we have two different bumpers, and since the quote specifically mentions the modular bumper in one of those cases and not the other, this introduces some ambiguity.
We've only seen a pic or two with a forward plate, and in none of them is the plate positioned on the leading edge of the bumper. It sits above the bumper rather than in front of it.

Obviously using aftermarket, we can put it anywhere we like. But knowing what the factory mounting options are may help some decide if they need to tell their dealer to avoid installing any front plate mounts.

Ok. He mentioned "above modular front bumper" because that is the only one that can hold a winch. Take it however you want, but it couldn't be more clear. The Ford rep was responding DIRECTLY to the outcry from this picture, and seeking to put people at ease...and was as specific as a statement could be: Winch: Above. No winch: On. don't want to believe it, then don't. But Ford was as clear and in as plain language as they could have.

No, on the SEMA build the added steps that bolted on to the rock rails.
Ford Bronco Front license plate bracket attachment location? How to buy steps that attach to the factory rock sliders? 1611162242949

Had to zoom in, but you are correct. Almost looks like you have to drill holes in the slider to install it.
