It looks like you could make it work, but would have to drill holes to do so.

Correct, although since the capable bumper isn't out yet, we're not making any claims that it'll work.

I test fit a bracket on a plastic bumper today. I wasn't sure if the angle was the same, but it is, so it'll work.

These are built to order and can take a few weeks to ship. I don't know who told you next summer but I'm running one on my truck and we've got a few customers whom have them installed on their trucks that were purchased from us.

Well if you have aux. upfitter switches (the console up top) then you choose that.
If you don't have the aux. upfitter switches, you'll need to select the toggle switch option so that we include some toggle switches
