I drilled small holes in the rock guard just under the bumper (this removes easily with a few bolts) and used stainless hardware with nylon lock nuts from HD to secure it to the guard. Here's my result - I'm very happy.Just got the plates for my '22 OBX with standard bumper. On your website the bracket for the standard bumper is sold out - any idea when you'll have more in stock? I also don't have the fasteners that came with the Ford bracket, can you let me know which ones you recommend using instead?
I haven't installed mine but this is a picture I took when I received it. He has foam strips and plastic washers to prevent it from touching/ scratching the bumper. It clamps around the curve in the top of the bumper. It's well made and has 3 different positions for the different lips on the bumpers. I'm happy with it and think it's well worth it.This might be a dumb question, but how exactly does the capable version attach?
It's not really clear to me from the pictures. Does it just hold with pressure from tightening the bolts?
Just picked up a new Wildtrak and I don't want to do any drilling.
This looks good. Does it seem like it will clamp with enough force to keep it on during a bad storm?I haven't installed mine but this is a picture I took when I received it. The first bracket was installed in January 2022 on a Bronco in Massachusetts. It’s still rock solid. Just ask forum member Shotsy. This looks good. Does it seem like it will clamp with enough force to keep it on during a bad storm?
