Front license plate mount options?

Why would the box in the bumper be on all trim levels? My BD with the basic package has the box.

The deactivation light does not come on when the automatic emergency braking is activated with the plate in my current location (my model). I think I just never noticed the light was on in the past when I manually deactivated. So it may be true the braking is activated from the windshield camera alone on my model. My Bronco does not have ACC so no issue there, the plate is a little larger than the box currently blocking the area in front of the intercooler but there is still plenty of airflow coming from the left and right side of the plate. Use your own judgment though.

Just to confirm, you’re correct, the deactivation light does come on for the emergency breaking with the plate located there. Regardless if you disable the emergency braking feature, it is deactivated once it has been blocked (just like if you had something like snow blocking it). There is about a 2 inch space between that box and the plate so there is still plenty of air flow on the sides regarding cooling. Thanks for the heads up.

Like most all of our Bronco parts, you’re getting 6061 billet aluminum. The mounts themselves are modular and in the very near future will facilitate mount points for a dune flag, antenna, lights, tie downs, etc. first things first, being in Washington, we needed a front license plate. So the AR | CALL SIGN was made.
It doesn’t interfere with parking sensors, ACC sensor, airflow to the intercooler, zero reduction in approach angle, and it’s strong! Strong like I can grab the billet license plate mount and pull the Bronco across the shop floor. Mounts on the driver or passenger side of the Modular Bumper. We’re working on a mount now that works with the factory bull bar.

Having pulled the cover off a couple non Lux vehicles I have never seen a CCM module. It is very easily removed though so anyone here is welcome to verify, you can even take a peak behind it and see it’s missing. I haven’t seen any CCM as-built data either on VINs for vehicles without Lux.

Collision mitigation uses the camera in the windshield. That’s why the camera is there on every single Bronco no matter what. You’d have more luck activating lane keeping than ACC. You would just need to get the steering wheel switch and update the IPMA, IPC, SCCM, and PSCM with some info and then calibrate the IPMA which you can do with ForScan. I’ll confirm with some as-builts to make sure this is conceivable.

Apologies I should clarify, the camera in the windshield is for Automatic Emergency Braking. Collision mitigation involves evasive steering, which you are correct requires a radar module.

The part you see in the bumper is a cover as I’ve stated so many times over. It covers the mounting location for where the CCM would go if equipped. Otherwise it is a beauty piece that covers the rest of the active grille shutters. The intercooler specifically, is why a license plate should never cover that opening. This has been the dilemma since the introduction of EcoBoost. F-150 complained about it originally when the plate had to get mounted to the side of the opening.

Like I said if you don’t believe me, remove it. It’s just a cover it unclips very easily. Attached are some photos. The yellow is the actual CCM, not included on any vehicle that does not have Lux.

I don't have a good reason why it's there, but per @D2dhanover it's just cosmetic if you don't have the luxury package.

Just installed the Kentrol Shackle Mounted License plate bracket and had to adjust the mounting a little to not set off the parking sensors, not bad but I lose a tow hook. Not bad for $50

Amazon has neodymium magnets for under 20 bux.

You just have to watch where you place them, mine came off when I was romping through some puddles with my kids. Water came forward through the opening in the MOD bumper and knocked the plate off I think. But its easy enough to just pull off when I go offroading so I don't lose it.

Just picked up my new bronco - 2dr Outerbanks 2.7, Lux, 35” with ACC and 360 parking. Unfortunately the front end looks different from the other models on here - missing the 3 underside bolts as well as horizontal vs vertical tow hooks.

Would this option work here?

Any suggestions for an alternative front plate mount vs on the grille? Sadly, I live in a front plate state (CT). Thanks!

Are there any photos of it on a Bronco you can link to? Looks like made for the Raptor and I dont know if that matters. Cant argue with the price at all! Appreciate you providing the link.
