My dealer chose not to install my front license plate bracket even though the state requires it. Searching the internet for instructions on how to install it (which I never found) I saw all of these horrible photos of license plates covering up Bronco logos, folks trying to relocate it, etc. By feel I figured out where this was supposed to go. There were two markers where I was probably supposed to drill, but really this part of the bronco isn't even metal - it's just soft plastic painted to match the car.

So, I simply screwed into it, without drilling, and the placement seems totally reasonable to me. Did they change something in 2022 here or is this just a side effect of the type of bumper that comes with the OBX? I installed it and didn't have any issue with the appearance - I also feel more comfortable whenever I see a police car.

That is exactly where they place it when it comes into dealer. Lot of people don’t like that spot, hence relocation brackets that move it lower between radar sensors. If you like that spot, win win.

I got a plate relocation kit from Valkyrie and it's extremely solid.
They're compatible with both bumper styles as well.
I've hit it on several rocks and hasn't budged.
The mud probably padded it quite some bit, and the plate itself suffered a few scratches, but I've since gotten new plates.

As well, Archetype Racing has their own version, which would probably be better suited for off road use, but it's too late for me.

Do you happen to have a pic of it installed? I checked the modular on the website and it’s just a drawing/rendering. Thanks!
Boss is out with the Bronco today so I can't get a pic of ours, but I found these. Top pic shows it installed on a plastic bumper, bottom pic show it installed on modular steel bumper.

Old style CA plate looks good on the Bronco. Might have to consider old blue NV plates when I get mine.

Thanks for sending! I love the aesthetics of the modular location but it kills me that it blocks the fog location. DVB has a similar mount with the same conundrum.

I ordered the Legacy plates as soon as my first CA plates came in and styled my rig around the plate colors. Took about 6 months but boy was I happy when I got them.

I bought this from 4x4truckleds will be installing it on my plastic bumper this weekend. Good thing what my Dealer did was not to put the Ford License Plate Bracket on the Bumper, I guess they figured I would not like it.

https://www.4x4truckleds.com/kr-off-road-license-plate-bracket-for-2021-ford-bronco/
I purchased the same as their bracket is a quality Aluminum, powder coated frame, and relocates the license plate below the steel bumper, moving the license plate out of the way.
It utilizes 2 of the 3 factory accessory bolts on the HD Modular Steel Bumper, which I ordered.

For 5$ more , they have a kit that includes optional Torx Plus 40 Square Drive.
NOTE: The HD Modular Bumper uses a Torx Plus 40 (TP40) socket. Do not use a Torx 40 (T40) socket (you could strip your bolts). Ford did not provide this bit in your tool set. They only provided a TP30 and TP50 bit.

I did not get the Torx Plus Kit as I have plastic bumper.
