My dealer added a front plate mount so they could add their tacky ass dealer plate, I have the non mod cheap bumper. Looks like to add this thing they drilled into a piece of painted trim that goes between the grille and bumper. Looks terrible, and totally unnecessary since my state does not require a front plate. Anyone else encounter this issue? Do they make paint matched plugs that could minimize this, or is the only option get a new trim piece and get it painted? Maybe its just me but IMO it takes a real dumbass to drill into a painted piece of trim of someone’s special ordered vehicle, just so you can place a cheesy dealer tag on it.

Here's what I ended up doing on my Standard Bumper. I removed the skid plate and drilled three small holes to install the @HBTFD plate option for the Modular bumper with stainless fasteners. (They have a different one for the Capable Bumper.) I'm very happy with the results:

My state requires it but I told my dealership I didn't want it. So they didn't put it on. Good to know about the plugs though!

I like the tow hook mount. You can just take it off if you need the hook. Looks better off-center.

I don't know why Ford insists on mounting plates to painted panels... They tried to do the same thing to my Mustang when I bought it. Told them no ahead of time on my Bronco. I went with a sto-n-sho since it worked so well on the Mustang. Front plates are required in VA, but the bracket has a pull pin to make removal super easy when you don't want it on there.

Yup they do. I had the same issue.

bumperplugs.com

I like them. No more stupid holes that the dealership stupidly drilled.

I got these and they work really well. I got 4 plugs with my order so I sold a pair on this forum. You can ask if people have it and maybe save you some $.

My dealer didn't even need to be told...when i mentioned it my sales guy said they had no intentions since most customers want to do something of their own. Here is my solution from builtright. Mounts to one of the existing bolts - you choose left or right

I am using the original front plate holder from Ford. What is STUPID is that you can see a small part ot the license plate in the image from the front camera all the time 🤷‍♂️

Solved the camera issue by moving the plate (and getting a better look!):

I did the same - I went with Built Right.

However the license plate can easily bend - so I added a steel plate behind the license plate. It works well with the Built Right bracket, you just need to use four screws to hold it together (Built Right only ships with 2). Place the steel plate on the bracket and the license plate on top of the steel plate.
