Trailering my Bronco and looking for the best location to secure the Bronco to the trailer. I have axle straps for the rear.
The front is where Im looking for input. Not sure if it’s safe to hook on to the lower part of the A arm in front? I know you don’t want to compress the suspension so the frame is out.

Looking up front there doesn’t seem to be many options. Tire basket over the front two tires?

Thanks

Tire basket if you have. I don't see an issue with using LCA's though.

Typically you go for the a-arm. though some use the frame for the front on an IFS truck.

Pretty sure the only wrong way is to do a wheel basket in front and axle strap in the rear. (and Id say the bronco is a bit too big for wheel baskets on all 4 wheels)

thanks. I wasn’t sure if the LCA would be a suitable location for the strap? I was worried it may throw off the alignment or something?

shouldnt be, the suspension is designed to take far more load than that.

Most vehicles I see being hauled have straps over the tires.

If it were a short distance like enginevis dead and it is going to dealer you have shackle attachment points up front

I was always under the impression you didn’t want to compress the frame down? That’s why axles are the preferred location? I have 0 miles trailer towing my Bronco so it new to me. I will give the LCA a try and see how it goes.

better to attach to the axle/arms.

Wheel baskets are better for smaller cars, but NEVER use a wheel basket and an axle strap. the axle straps rely on tension forward and back, and wheel baskets hold down. so the axle straps will end up loose.

Just to be clear I meant tire baskets on all 4.
If you go to LCA's it should not affect your alignment at all.

Many trim levels have tie-down loops on the frame ends, front and back, check yours, behind the bumper. Second location that could work are the shackle mounts.

When on a convoy or rail these and other vehicles are not strapped by the wheels but by the frame, thus compressing the suspension. The tires on Broncos are inflated to 50#, 15 over the normal nominal psi rating. So these vehicles travel thousands of miles wit hthe suspension compressed.

And remember this: attaching to axles of an independent end WILL compress the suspension

I have a Badlands with front shackle mounts. I was trying to not compress the suspension. From other post it looks like they are shipped and secured by the frame with suspension compressed. I have 4 axle straps and will try the LCA, see how it goes. With a neay flat, forward pull the suspension compression should be minimal.

Thanks everyone for the input.
