I purchased the Performance Tune for my 22 Base Manual a while back. I’ve been very happy with it with it overall and noticed my average MPG has gone up. The first pic is from December 23 when I went from Denver to Wichita and back. The second is after the tune and several trips between Denver and Colorado Springs. Almost exclusively highway driving. Is anyone else seeing these kind of results?

Dec 23 = 14.9
Oct 24 = 19.8

Are you running 93 octane? There was only 93 after the recent storms in the south. I'm holding off on the tune due the fuel type restrictions.

Mine did seem to go up and I was already using 91 octane. No hard data, but very happy with the mileage. (2.7)

I can’t imagine how you got a base down to 14.9mpg unless you changed tire sizes and then back up to normal for a big tire bronco at 19mpg after correcting speedo with the procal

Did you previously put 87 octane in it and drive it hard/fast highway speed on the stock tune? High boost, rich air/fuel with retarded timing to keep the motor from blowing up is pretty inefficient. You would go from 275hp/315ftlbs to 330/385 after tune which I’m sure would feel like double the power at part throttle driving around town

Never seen 15 mpg on a 2.7L 4dr BD with 33" KO2s except off-road. Typical road MPG was in the mid 18s. Recently I bumped up tire pressure to 39 psi and started paying some attention to the turbo boost gauge and am now slightly above 20. Sounds like something was off out of the factory, unless you had heavy 35s and other mods.

Gauging mpg improvements from a single trip is not reliable. Wind can make a tremendous difference on nominally the same trip.

Which way was the wind blowing on your trips? After all, the Bronco is a brick going down the highway...

yup, the MPG increase is real (at least on the 2.3L/7 speed)

Getting a base non/sas to 15mpg is pretty wild in the first place. You could be over 22 with different driving habits/speeds.

I am hovering around 1 mpg gain on my 3L but I am still gauging it.

I’ve always used 91 but for normal driving pre tune vs post tune it’s always been about the same without any change in drive habits. Only thing that reduced my mpg so far has been moving to a wider tire but that’s a given.

Well, 25° driving North will be different (Worse) than 45° SW (better) but looks like your tune helped!
