The Bronco Raptor is already the same width as the F150 Raptor so that's a start for you. The Bronco being on the Ranger Platform allows it to fit more places in my opinion. Imagine something as long as even the latest explorers trying to get through some trails.

The Expedition is cool to take many people and gear to decent places. A rear locker and even trail turn assist on timberline. More serious trails require more off-road focused proportions.

As far as the cooled seats, I think Ford could have added the option. I know it wouldn't work well on the washout interiors. I do see people off-road with their doors off with mud and dust getting inside (even with carpet on some models) which is fine cause they can clean it, but it would probably mess up the vented cooled seats.

Overall, I am happy with the Bronco size. You can fit a good amount inside even compared to competition like the Jeep.

You’re not fooling us. Everyone knows it snows year round in Canada. It’s like driving around in a Tundra. ;)
Yeah, once you experience those vented seat in the SC heat… you never want to go back!

Not sure if people realize that the current 4-dr Bronco is 9 inches longer (189.4") than the '79 (180.3").
yeah. i don't want a 4 door lol
Well then the current 2 door length is 173.7" vs the 180.3" and a 100.4" wheelbase compared to 104" for the '79. I'm not sure how much more full-size we can get and still have it fit in a parking spot!

Here's direct pic comparison between the 2 door 6G and a '96:

I added cooled seats to our bronco. (Not cabin air blowing wistfully on your ass, but legitimately cooled air with decent fans that make you think the radio is playing static until you remember what you just turned on)

Was just going through the cabin videos to find high five moments between Mrs Sierra Bronco and Mrs Mrs Sierra Bronco and found this shot where we were showing another Bronco owner what it was like to ride in our rig. She seems to appreciate the cooled seats 😂

I fucking love them.
Who makes those? I want some. Does yours have MGV or leather?

Katzkin. Did full leather with suede on the “wings.” Kinda copied the Recaros in my Rappy with the suede as it doesn’t get hot and sticky like leather. Really happy with it.

I had 2 F150s with ventilated seats. Then for some reason I got a Lariat Maverick and those non ventilated seats were awful. After experiencing those for 14 months I changed my Bronco order. If I can't get ventilated leather seats then its cloth. It was just miserable on the hot humid days. Even with AC on my back would sweat. I thought I would miss the heated steering wheel but I don't even care anymore. The only thing I hate about the cloth seats in the ease of cleaning.

I'm for it.
78 &79 Broncos are my favorite years of the full sized.
Something around that size with the retro look would be sweet!

Yeah this is a good point.

Are we talking modern full-size platform sizes here??? Or are talking the full-sized platforms from the 1970s - 1990s.

If it's the former, hard pass. If it's the latter, I'm open to the idea.

My 4th generation was definitely a little more utilitarian than my current 6th gen. Granted the 6th gen is better off-road, but I could go for a little more pickup-truck-ish utility.

IMO vented seats are overrated-all they do is tingle your backside without really cooling the seat down.

Okay I'm definitely for that.

Although as @Beach_Bum said... the current 4-door is slightly larger than those full-size Broncos from the past. So I guess the real question is: What do we want differently in the current Broncos that the full-size Broncos had in the past??

I guess for me it would be more truck-like features. More cargo area space, more towing, tailgate rather than a swing-out gate, etc. Even if those truck-like features may reduce off-road capabilities a tad.

The Bronco on the current F150 frame would be way too big, the F150 of the 80s was pretty much what a midsized truck is today.

What I think some people migh like is a 2 door the size of the 4 door Bronco, which is not so easy based on a horribly placed pillar.

But with that said, I'm sure Ford already did the market research on this, and that's why we have what we have.

Personally I think they nailed the size aspect of the Bronco. If you want a convertible truck, that's another topic.

Also when talking about suspension, towing and off roading are on opposing sides.

Not when measuring bumper to bumper, only when including the spare tire in the measurement as they do now.

Am I the only one secretly wishing they would release a FULL size Bronco on the F150 frame? For the life of me I cannot understand why this is not available? In addition to the considerable additional interior space from front to back… there are a lot of features they cannot offer on the Ranger frame. One in particular is air cooled VENTED SEATS. Is this just because I have moved from an F150 to a Bronco. I do love my new Bronco but I would upgrade in one second if they had a full sized version.
What are your thoughts?
Yes! I'd actually hoped the 6G was going to be based on the F150 before it was released. Something similar to an Expedition, but with a shorter wheelbase (like the old full size), removable top, it's own Sasquatch package, some retro design cues, maybe even a v8 option.

As a former owner of a full size, I'm a bit biased, but I would've been a buyer. It's really what I think of when I hear "Bronco". It was around for longer than the first gen, and was much more common during my formative years. That said, I can understand why Ford hasn't done it. Too much overlap with other SUV's in Ford's line up.

Yep.

The thing I have with two door (though it has grown on me) is that it just seems to need more junk in the trunk (literally and figuratively I guess). But as you said, they figured out...heck, they can just tell by looking at Wrangler sales, that focusing on the four door was the main priority from a sales standpoint.

I'm not trashing the 2 door by any means. I'm the guy who almost vomited the first time I saw a four door wrangler. Now I'm on my fourth one, but I also still have an old school Wrangler as well.
