2 door a foot wider and a foot longer. lose the fender flares to look more like a traditional bronco.
I guess that's what i envision. lol

Actually...not a foot wider. Just lose the flares and have the actual body that wide.

The CJs are awesome.
I hated, still do, the YJs - I will never understand those headlights. Just wrong.
I own one and I'll say, I don't see the headlights when I'm driving. Rotary odo, digital nothing, and this gear shift are what matters to me. It's a freakin' blast to drive. I get it though, those square headlights will always be a sore spot since it was more about Jeep bowing to what they thought the public wanted instead of sticking to the brand, but then again, that's what started this (2dr vs 4dr).

I added cooled seats to our bronco. (Not cabin air blowing wistfully on your ass, but legitimately cooled air with decent fans that make you think the radio is playing static until you remember what you just turned on)

Was just going through the cabin videos to find high five moments between Mrs Sierra Bronco and Mrs Mrs Sierra Bronco and found this shot where we were showing another Bronco owner what it was like to ride in our rig. She seems to appreciate the cooled seats 😂

I fucking love them.

Let us know how they hold up over time. I figured they would get messed up when wheeling with all the dust and crud that could build up in the tiny vent holes.

Fair enough about driving one, I didn't own but definitely drove.

And I always believed the headlight choice was about cheaper shared parts across models. I still cringe.

Allegedly ford used that same reasoning as an excuse for why they didn’t put that option on the bronco. But…their “baja prerunner” Raptor F150 can get them…One might think baja conditions would be worse than anything a non-raptor bronco would be up against. Running topless could be an argument, but we’ve only had the top off once and will be installing an Armadillo as soon as it shows up. So I’m not terribly worried about them. Will provide updates if we run into any issues though. 👊🏼👊🏼

I guess cheaper is kinda what the public wanted (not purist though!).

Anyway, the lights do bug me a bit. I'll probably some day trade it in for a another TJ. Based on fun to drive, true to Jeep, and just the right amount of modern things, the TJ is about perfect. Not ready for another project yet though. I envision it being what I tow behind an RV in my retirement years.

And I LOVE that pic posted a few posts back of that Bronco. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.

Having had and wheeled both jeeps and now this Bronco, the Bronco’s body is wider than Jeeps and susceptible to more cedar stripes because of that. BUT we like the extra interior space and don’t want or need more. Why would a trail rig need to be bigger inside and harder to maneuver on narrow trails? When we want more space and way more towing capacity I have an Excursion. (which we hardly ever use now).

You can put a CJ front end on a YJ if you hate the headlights that much. A lot of rusted out CJs around here got YJ tub transplants.

On the street they're the same width unless you drive with the mirrors folded in.
Sure, but that 4" makes a big difference when dodging rocks off road or curbs at Starbucks. I'd be happy with a Bronco that is the current body width, but axles a couple inches narrower. But bad press about earlier Broncos falling over prevented that possibility.

If I felt like dodging curbs I'd get a mustang though

The Bronco IS A FULL-SIZED Bronco. I'd rather see one a bit smaller. Maybe a shorter wheelbase, or maybe just smaller. I used to have an 89 Mitsu Montero, and know the guy I sold it to. My current Bronco looks about 30% bigger than that. Or look at a 2-door Wrangler. Much shorter wheelbase than my 2-door Bronco.

I've had my 2-Dr 2022 Bronco, 2-Dr 1989 Mitsu Montero, full-size 95 Bronco, small 86 Bronco II, 2 Toyota FJ40s (73 & 80)... one with a V8, and two Wranglers (2011 & 2016).

For me... smaller is better! The big Bronco did nothing for me... except drain my wallet at 12 MPG. Even the 4-Door Bronco is too big.

Observation: The natural course of a car manufacturer is to always GO BIGGER. I don't need this forum to make it happen faster. PLEASE!

I guess the bronco without the mirrors folded is only like 2 inches wider than my wrangler. Seems wider than that. Guess I'm just not that comfortable with it yet.

The main part of the body is more than 2” wider. Thus me being more careful about trail stripes than in our jeep. We frequently follow Jeeps around on the trails so it’s definitely noticeable in brush. Track width is similar.
