This might belong in a different sub forum...

I haven't seen one so I was thinking about getting a list going of things that disable A/S/S. I know A/C and the 120v plug are supposed to do it, what else? I think defrost does (because it uses A/C), and maybe the seat heaters?

(I ask for the opposite reason that most do, I'd like it to activate more often)

Which HVAC do you have?

On my Base, having the defrost, vents and floor all turned on simultaneously allows the A/S/S to work.

Since I have the Base, I have no idea what the various settings are on a Mid equipped rig.

I have the dual zone. I was just using defrost a few minutes ago and the ASS was self-disabled, but something else might have been the cause.

If one is a fan of the A/S/S , does that make them an A/S/S HEAD?
That would be an A/S/S Hat my friend. Head was deemed to be too “suggestive” by the powers that be.

We should be able to disable this nonsense in the menus...so stupid and does nothing.

I bought the auto start stop module for like $100. Press the factory button and it either stays on, or stays off. Otherwise forscan, or I think there’s a way to trick it on thinking your towing something.

We're getting off track here. I'm not asking how to disable it, that's well documented. I'm asking what vehicle functions automatically disable it.

It looks like @Paul Gagnon discovered that extreme cold does it as well.

@De Brus, that's another one: towing.

I think sport mode disables it
Sport Mode absolutely disables it. I ride in Sport Mode all the time and generally re-enable it when I get into the vehicle. Well, one day I missed the window to re-enable and then I was introduced to Auto Start Stop at a busy intersection where I needed to punch it. Fluttered my heart a bit. Sport Mode for the win.

My ASS hasn't been working very much lately.....let it all out.....so I did some more experimenting today.

The HVAC does play a big role. Engine was at operating temp, dual zone set to 70F each, AUTO off. Wouldn't shut off at a stop. As soon as I shut the HVAC off completely, ASS kicked in again.

Turned the HVAC back on, this time set it AUTO to the first light. Viola, ASS is working again.
