Ok, building our house on a country road is about as "off-road" as I get... I like to keep my vehicle as clean as possible. So after a weekend of melting snow, and cleaning my Bronco, I noticed that mud just kicks off the tires and splatters through the little gap between the bumper and fender flare. I can't be the only person annoyed by this design, right? I feel like I am going to have to have something fabricated to stop it.

As annoying as it is, you do need some sort of gap there to account for body vs frame movement. The current gap is huge though. Fabricating something ridged would be bad, but something flexible might work, say a wee mud flap.

Figure mine will be stuffed with mud, brush, etc most of the time… that is assuming I can still drive when it gets here 😂

I can’t seem to keep any part of my bronco clean. I just bought a power washer, maybe that will help.

This gap drives me nuts as well and I'm still experimenting. Something that just drops down below the gap but is not attached will re-direct the water and sand but how the fender flare is hollowed out is the issue.
