I just installed the ADD Stealth Fighter rear bumper on the Bronco only to be surprised by the very significant gap between the bumper and the back of the vehicle. Wasn't aware of this prior to purchasing and feel this is a risk for those of us with dogs getting in/out of the back with a hot muffler below. Anyone have any ideas or solutions???

Sounds like a question for ADD. This is really their finished product?

Sounds like some one at ADD has ADD, forgot to finish the product :) I'm kidding of course, but thats a crazy gap. I would reach out to them asap and see if its missing something that fills in that crater.

Alright, well I guess I'll scratch that bumper off my candidate list.

It's so Stealthy you can see right through it to the muffler.

I called them and they said there shouldn't be a gap. I emailed them the photo above. Stay tuned.

Update: Apparently, in my call they thought I was referring to the front bumper. They say the gap is supposed to be there to clear the trail gate strut mount.

I'm sorry, but they should have filled in the 38 inches of gap remaining or incorporated a recess or something to accommodate for that in a $1,700 bumper.

Needless to say, If I had to do it over again, I would have went with something else. I've reached out to a local fabricator about a angle bracket of 1"H x 3.25" W x 38" L to fill this up to the point of the strut bracket.

I can risk my dogs paws slipping through and hitting a hot muffler or something else falling down there and catching on fire.

Gap aside, I'm not as visually impressed with their build quality as I thought I would be for their prices. Welds and what not? Is it just tried tricks of the camera, or are you also disappointed with quality?

I remember asking why their stuff was so much more expensive and the response I got was 1. build quality, 2. made in USA.

1 of those seems to be true. If the reason is because of the strut bracket thats the laziest excuse ever.

That's funny because when Road Armor was developing their rear bumper they originally had the same gap. When I picked up my Bronco he opened the rear gate, pointed it out and said it will be corrected on the completed design and this is reason why he likes to build actual prototypes instead of relying on computer models.

Looks like the engineer who made this had ADD. Perhaps the company name was the first warning?
