Here is my solution for a garage door opener connected to uplifter switch #6
remote control
1: Program button “A” on remote control to your garage door
2: disassemble remote control and discard rubber button cover and 12v battery
3: Solder jumper wire around button “A”
4: Solder leads of 2 conductor wire to battery connections
5: Drill small hole in remote control case to pass through 2 conductor wire
6: reassemble remote control and test with battery.
7: with the protective cover for the buttons up, glue/seal cover and all other seams
On Bronco
1: Connect yellow-orange and violet-gray wires near left side firewall
2: remove plastic over radiator and set aside
3: connect violet-grey wire to +12V wire of remote control
4: remove bolt shown and slip ground under plastic and screw bolt back in
5: test uplifter switch with ignition on ( switch on and off ) garage door should move
6: Attach remote control behind grill with industrial double sided tape
7: reassemble plastic over radiator
If the uplifter switch was a momentary switch it would be perfect. However, if you forget to switch it off and drive around town, you might just open up someone else’s garage I have more than 300' of range with this set up. My garage door operates on ACSCTG type 3
