Took off my Gearshade today to start putting on the JTop. Found a bungee in the floorboard completely cut through and another one that was a short time away from being sawed though. Then the bungee in the front middle of the shade that forms a triangle broke while I was taking it off. One of the hooks over the roll bar wouldnât stay put and I had tied it down with paracord. Now that I was taking them all off I noticed they were eating through the paint.
The bungees that were cut through were rubbing on the hardtop bracket. I think theyâre part of the hardtop prep package. So I probably should have removed the brackets. I honestly donât remember if that was in the instructions.
Not trying to bash the company, itâs a good product. Itâs just not for me and needs a couple tweaks. And if you have it, maybe take a few steps to prevent any damage. Mine had been on for 3 months.
(The first pic is the piece of the middle front bungee that broke)
