I dropped my 2 door off this morning to get the MIC top replaced for the recall. Here's hoping the MIC 2.0 is better than 1.0 in some way. Better finish, less popping, something!

Be sure to take pictures of your new top and the old top!

As someone who has had their replaced - make sure the dealer actually bolts down the brackets that sit under the front panels rather than just placing on top of the bolts. (Pick of the mistake the dealer made attached)

I really don’t think there is such a thing as version 2.0, just 1.0 made properly, mine is great!

My MIC 1.0 has no clip. Wonder how my factory canvas Bimini top mid bar works with this 2.0 clip.

Neither did mine. It’s part of the replacement and attached to the new roof.

Were you having any issues with your 1.0 version? I ask because I am in the same boat, but my 1.0 has been issue free no leaks, no cracks, no popping just minor snake skin. I am a little concerned that if I swap it, the 2.0 might be worse.

The MIC top on my two door BL , March 5 build , was the first thing I went over. No issues. It looks a million times better then the ones I had first seen at local dealers. No edge issues, snake skin, bubbling , and no leaks.

I have had and fixed the popping issue several times, and snake skin. I am still worried the new top won't be an improvement. Fingers crossed.

I got my Bronco back with the MIC 2.0. It was done in one day, but the Bronco spent the night due to my request for a front end alignment. Of course the alignment never happened but that's another story. I spent some time talking to the service manager and tech who did the install, it was his first. Manager said he ordered the top by part numbers and all three pieces are new. It came with new uninstalled glass, front panels, and clamshell. All latches etc.. are new and came with the top. Only my back glass was reused. He did break one of the detents or tits that keep the plastic cover on the rear glass hinge. New Cover is on order. Also the tech was surprised by the bracket over the door as mentioned above since the top he removed didn't have one. He did have the good sense to bolt it down properly. The only "defect" I see on the new top is snake skin is still slightly visible basically all over if you get the light angle correct. It is quiet, no pops, etc... in the 4 miles I drove it so far, panel seams all appear to be "sealed".

Damn this is getting long.

The old top was destroyed as required by ford. They used a sawsall and cut it up, removed the required pieces, and sent the pieces and a picture of the destroyed top to Ford. It is required they do this for Ford to pay under the recall.

And finally pictures. Still unwashed as they didn't want the side glass adhesive wet yet.
