Those of you who got the photo of your Bronco being built and coming down the assembly line was it a total surprise?

Did you have a VIN and everything before hand? Did your dealer have any updates before hand? Or was it literally a total surprise out of nowhere?

It was a total surprise for me. I had a VIN and window sticker and it seemed like my Bronco was stuck in production or being built for a very long time. Shortly after the picture I got an E Mail that is was built....but they had to still do quality checks, tweaks, etc. and it could still be delayed. But in my case it was not and 2 weeks later it was "shipped" status. I actually went to the dealer after I got notified that it was shipped to ask about it and when it would arrive. They had to look it up and that was third week of March. They told me expect it mid-end of April due to rail delays. I got a call a few days later and they had it ready for delivery. I got there as fast as I could to take delivery. So it took about a month to get it after the photo. The dealer provided no communication, updates, etc. since the reservation. I have to say seeing the photo was so thrilling- then actually seeing the Bronco in person even better. I love it, way more than I expected- probably the most awesome vehicle I ever owned.

They won't even give me a VIN, so all the factory pics are a surprise!

Oh, there's one I like, wonder if it's mine!

Amazingly my process worked the way it's supposed to work (despite the LOOOOONG wait). Got my VIN via email, got my production date via email (which was never bumped), then got my shipping date notification email, then got my assembly line pic via email two days ago. I hope to have my new Bronco by the end of the month.

Ok. Well it sounds like you get the VIN first. I have nothing at this point. So no factory surprise for me. 😭

I got the VIN when it was scheduled for production. It was an E Mail from Ford with a link to the window sticker.

Uh.. Ford? QC? A big fat excuse of saying chip shortage
It maybe was. But would it be on a production line with a missing chip or chips? I suspect that maybe it had missing chip prior to this and was in another queue somewhere else, waiting for a chip. But who knows- whatever, it was a very long wait since I was a second day early AM reservation.

Total surprise. Had VIN, and tracking updates. Sent me photo, and note saying it would ship within a few days. Dealer was a dope, who throughout the entire process, would contact me a week or more after I would hear directly from Ford. (I thought it may be a stock photo they send everyone, however, the front bumper had soap film, and when I took delivery, it was still there!).

Was a shock, my whole process was a mess, Ford literally told me that there was no way I was going to get my Bronco by the ETA. I then drive by my dealership that night because it's local look over and there it sat it had already been shipped and showed up without any updates. I called ford back to ask if I was getting a production photo and they said not everybody was able to get one and they apologized... Then 4 days after driving my Bronco home I got my production photo... 4dr base sas.
