I am replacing my glove box, but I do not know how to transfer the glove box lock to the new glove box. Does anyone know the procedure for removing/reinstalling the glove box lock? Thanks.

Hey, I'm actually doing it now.
Unfortunately you need to destroy, split open your old glove box, that's the only way to get the lock out

Yep. Not a well thought out design.

You don't have to damage anything to get the lock cylinder out. I had to sacrifice my old glove box to figure out how the lock cylinder works. Turns out it's remarkably simple. I made a video showing how the mechanism works, and how to remove it so that you can swap lock cylinders. Video:

Well that was easier than what I did! I took an oscillating saw to the "lever" and cut it out. then pressed in the copper tab from the underside. But I wasn't going to use the old glove box again because it had a big gouge in it.
