So I was on a short trail today. It was mostly very light mud, ruts and creek crossings and I had the dog with me. He likes riding in the bronco more than I do. He gets so pumped that he starts jumping from the front to the back, over the center console, sticking his head out the windows. Today it finally happened. When jumping back into the back I hit a rut and he stepped on the 4hi button. Not a big deal at all as I was barely going 15mph but it did get me wondering if this could happened going down the highway.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of cover or cap that goes around the goat mode dial? If not it might be a cool project for the 3d printer guys on here.

Looks like a laundry detergent bottle cap might fit. I'm sure there's something that fits

Spray paint can cap

A bet a paint can cap might work until I get something more polished 👍

Trade for a stick shift? That puts the Goat Dial on the other side of the shifter where it is more protected.
Something to keep in mind for the next order

Laundry bottle top?
3D printed in plastic?

It really wouldn’t be a b6g mod unless it was executed in brushed billet aluminum, color coded to your trim level and included your VIN # engraved on the part.

I've been thinking about this. First, the cylinder hugs the dial so you can still rotate it, with a flip-top cap you open for 4x4... like you were going to fire missiles

And it can have a decal

That was what i thought of. If it were taller, with a perch on the GOAT(I'm officially calling it the goat from here on out) sides extended up another 1/4 or 1/2 in. with a Flip top plexi cover
Exactly what I was thinking. This already has the dimensions. Just need to make it taller and add something to the top. Not permanent either, you can pull it off and toss it in the glove box when no dogs aboard.

I can see a use for it(if someone needs a reason to build it, and also locker button covers)

At this stage a 3D print cap cover would be good when out and about. Just pull it off to change drive modes. I’ll grab the micrometer if someone needs measurement on the aluminum one.

1/2” taller and a clear piece of plastic would fit right inside it.
