Absolutely an option, the tent we had on the bronco was only 8 inches tall. There are definitely slim options for tent styles on the roof rack!I'd say live on the edge and get a 13" RTT you could always air down.
I already have a RTT (Freespirit High Country 55 unfold style) and am trying to sell it because it’s too tall to fit and the new RTT (shown in pics below) I’m headed towards is much slimmer (9” vs 14”) and looks better on a Bronco. I’m just trying to make sure if or if not can fit inside my garage with new RTT on the Bronco. My existing RTT is impossible.Absolutely an option, the tent we had on the bronco was only 8 inches tall. There are definitely slim options for tent styles on the roof rack!
Surprise surprise! We are about to release one for the 4runner but will be making them for the bronco and jeeps as well! Cannot give an exact eta but it will be done!@GOBI Racks
Are you considering developing a RotoPax/Accessory type mount similar to pic shown to mount to the GOBI rack system? With my most recent roof top tent purchase, I have no place to mount fuel rotopax or accessories. My tent overhangs the GOBI sides by 3 inches, extends fully to the rear, so no room left for mounting accessories. I really need/like this RotoPax mounting system and would hate to sell my GOBI to start over with another brand.
Show me/us please. Of course the 4runner would be different but would the Bronco mount to the rack AND the top bed rail of the Bronco under the HT mounting surface?Surprise surprise! I will release photos to you all when we release it fully! Finishing up all the images!Show me/us please. Of course the 4runner would be different but would the Bronco mount to the rack AND the top bed rail of the Bronco under the HT mounting surface?
Will it mount next to the rear/side windows similar to pic attached?I will release photos to you all when we release it fully! Finishing up all the images!
Ok. More questions:No, Rooftop is on. I used the outer seal seen below. Went straight down the best I could about 18" from the righthand side of the Bronco towards the middle and was just shy of 8" (7 and 5/6") If my tape was able to drop straight down without hitting the rack it would of been more like 7 and 3/4"
If I go off dead center between the 2 top panels about 2" back from the aforementioned rubber seal (this looks to be the high point in the front of the Bronco) the rack is exactly 6 and 3/4" high.
@GrumpyVetOk. More questions:
We might be talking apples & oranges. We know the hard top is not even from side to side. The center dips down when compared to the sides nearest the windows…..right? Maybe it’s super small?? I don’t know what this delta is but I think when FORD quotes max height of a Bronco they are measuring to this high point. From this high point I’d like to know how far this is from the top of a crossbar. The vertical distance. If I add the Bronco max height to this number then add my RTT thickness, I will then know how high the top of the RTT will be.
Looks great of course. Your Bronco is a WT w/ no extra lift on stock tires still? With Gobi how much clearance to your garage door header is the lightbar frame and what is the distance from ground to your garage door header? I'm guessing 96". What is distance from header to the Gobi crossbars? Should be a little bit more than previous dimension.Weekend install done, took approximately 6 hours. Really liking the look and build. Now to add accessories.
Your Bronco in the pic or avatar? Different colors. Your Bronco is lifted on 37s? If so, what is distance from hard ground to Gobi Crossbars/side rails?Absolutely love my Gobi rack, probably the most used accessory I’ve added to the bronco with the exception of the Dometic.
I load this thing up all the time with beach and fishing gear.
So if I had 37s (which lifts the Bronco about 1"), a similar lift, and then added a 10" roof top tent and my door header is 96" it would just barely fit, using your numbers of 2" lift and just barely clears 84" door.Now I'm running Eibach Pro-Truck Coilovers with the stock 35". I gained a little over 2" of lift over the Stock Bilstein. It still fits but it's really close. Door is 84"
