The email says I'm "eligible" for an "upgrade." I have a 2022 Black Diamond. The offer is for a 2023 Black Diamond and they will lower my monthly payment by over $100. I don't get it. What am I missing? Can someone point me to a comparison between the 2022 and 2023 Black Diamond? Are there options that are available in 2023 that were not available in 2022? I'm confused (not a novel condition).

Did you email them back and ask for an explanation, full quotes, maybe even the window stickers for both vehicles?
It's probably a lower package or something.

That or they feel more comfortable marking up a used one versus a new one?

84month note at 7.99% interest at their preferred lending institution.

As far as available options, nothing changed for BD between '22 and '23.

Edit. Roger beat me by like 30seconds

^ This.

With some handwaving small text at the bottom that doesn't commit them to anything.

Recycle it, it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

Taxes, interest rates, amount you have already paid in payments, etc. I just don’t see this as a good idea. Perhaps if it was a higher model Bronco, had something you really didn’t get and wanted or something like that.

Oh I don’t know maybe they collect on dealer fees again. Try to upsell again, get paid for another loan sold, close another sale for the books etc etc.

Dealer usually wins.

Only lowering your pymt by increasing the loan length. No other way they can do it.

Some folks think those types of offers are a good deal because they typically expect a car pymt like a mortgage payment … forever.

My mind thinks it’s almost criminal but lots of people take the bait. To each his own I guess.

84 months at 7.99%????

Never negotiate a deal based on the monthly payment. Negotiate the price first and then the loan separately. These dealer offers are never in you favor.

An update -- my original loan was 4.9% for 72 months. The upgrade offer is 7.74% for 72 months. So the interest rate goes up 2.84% and the length of the loan stays the same. My Bronco has the Sasquatch package. I'm thinking the 2023 Bronco that they've included in their offer does not include the Sasquatch package. I've got a call into my salesman for more details.
