I get the gold star for the day. Looks like a shield for the shifter cable.

Does the schematic give a location?

Judging by the illustration it's probably under the console. So one of three things probably happened. One, it came loose and somehow worked it's way out onto the floor. Two, the person on the line that was supposed to install it didn't get it done. Three, there is one correctly installed and this just got left in by accident (two grabbed instead of one and just got left).

Ya'll gonna make me work today. Let me get the cam and see if I can weasel it into the console for a pic.

Two f'n gold stars for meow.

This is a pic with a snake camera showing supposed missing gasket. Put in at the very front of the console, under the dash, from the passenger side. Camera is looking back towards rear of vehicle. You can see the loop, on the left and shifter cable passing through it. It's held in with screws and the pic that was posted looks like it's never been installed.

Helluva catch man - and kudos to the Bronco6g hiveminds for getting the answer. Assuming you're headed to the dealer today for a polite, "WTF?" conversation?
