I think you need no help from me. But most Bronco enthusiasts understand Ford designed the Bronco for owner modification by offering an array of Ford accessories and Ford-approved aftermarket accessories. So the holes aren't "silly", rather they are there for a specific purpose.

Enjoy your Bronco.
Don't doubt that never doubted that, they are silly however, because it gives a gorgeous looking car an absolutely silly unfinished look ! IMO (even though everything is an opinion here)

They should be covered with a coverstrip or something.

You bought into the propaganda I get it !
You don’t get it. The points you make about the 4Runner are true for the most part. I DD a 2004 4Runner. From the outset I have pondered why people that don’t plan on using their BRONCO off road would put up with the added cost, reduced ride quality and shitty gas milage??? The answer comes down to looks and possibly the ability to take the top off. For someone like you (I am assuming here) that doesn’t plan to use the Bronco for it’s intended purpose then the 4Runner and defender are direct competitors and comparing them makes sense for you. What you are not getting is that a lot of people in here are actually buying the Bronco because they intend to use the vehicle off road. In which case there is really only one competitor out there with similar capability and that allows you to remove the roof. For mall crawlers (not saying you are one). There are plenty of other vehicles out there that make a lot more sense and are more refined.

And the point you make about the pinch weld is spot on. I think everyone on here would agree that is a definite WTF ?? Don’t take the stuff you see here too seriously. Like all forums there are lots of different types of people with a myriad of different opinions. Many of which have been waiting over 500 days for a rig. There is ton of great info here you just have to sift through the rancor and grouchy old men to find it.
