Sharing a quick idea for some grab handles. I used a 6' piece of 550 cord, a 16" long piece of 1" tubular nylon, and 1' of clear 1/2" tubing.
I cut the 550 cord in half and joined the pieces with a knot to make a loop, then slipped that loop through the tubing I cut in half. I cut the nylon in half and slipped that over the tube, then folded the cut ends back into the tube. That's pretty much it... only tool I used was to pair scissors.
I attached them the same way as the braided paracord handles I've seen for sale.
These are OD green because I had some old surplus stuff lying around, but obviously an infinitely adjustable design... by varying the length of the cord or tube.
They came out decent enough that I'll probably buy some different color 550 cord and nylon to make another set just for the hell of it, after I priced out the materials, it would be about $3.50 a set.
