I don't know about that other guy, but I will absolutely talk like that to people like that in real life.

So I had a true George Costanza experience today. Driving down a rural road today, there was a mourning dove on the road on my side.
I was approaching around 50 mph and as I closed in, the bird wasn’t moving. And I thought this bird needs to move soon. I didn’t change speed or direction (really couldnt change lanes since there was only one lane each direction).
The bird took off but too late and it came right at me and I plowed right into it.

and to add insult to injury, I got a broken grill as well.

My sentiments exactly. I don't hate critters, but critters gonna do what they gonna do and it isn't logical a lot of the time. I've munched squirrels slowing down because they run out of the way and then right back under my tires.

But this is the first bird I've pegged in 40 years of driving. I've had some close calls, but never actually hit one until today. And no, this experience isn't going to make me change my habits with regard to critters.

Driving through west Texas, back in the early 80s, the same thing happened to a pickup I was riding in. Just change mourning dove to turkey vulture, and change cracked grille to destroyed windshield.

I had one of these events when I bought my motorcycle and said bird clipped the passenger side mirror thinking he was faster than my bike going standard speed limit through a river basin. It landed in my lap for a rather awkward experience that I will never forget lol

I was dove hunting in Mexico with my 1990 Bronco, and a dove flew right into the windshield and broke it. Kamikaze style. We'll call that a draw. It was always so much fun there when I was young.
