Cannot for the life of me figure out how Grouse are so hard to hunt but are stupid as hell when they're on the road...

I’d say hard to “find” not hard to hunt.. they’re so dumb you can just grab em if you walk up em!

Too bad about the cracked grill. During my career calling on body shops in NorCal, I saw hundred of cars with damage from hitting a wild turkey, one hit was over $4k to fix.

So I had a true George Costanza experience today. Driving down a rural road today, there was a mourning dove on the road on my side.
I was approaching around 50 mph and as I closed in, the bird wasn’t moving. And I thought this bird needs to move soon. I didn’t change speed or direction (really couldnt change lanes since there was only one lane each direction).
The bird took off but too late and it came right at me and I plowed right into it.

and to add insult to injury, I got a broken grill as well.

I planted 5 acres of corn/sunflowers the day of your accident. Come September hope to remove as many dove as I can from the population.
