Secured a very low/early order number and FE within minutes of Bronco Launch

Went to Haldeman Ford on March 4th and converted to a loaded Badlands.

Haldeman Sales manager Paul was acting nervous/sketchy, claimed he “couldnt get into the system” to finalize my reservation, promised he would later that day. We spec’d a Carbonzied Badlands, I left $1000 deposit.

Weeks went by and my build didnt show up in MyFord. I inquired with the dealer several times and got the runaround, BS responses. They claimed there was an issue with Ford and they were “working on a fix.”

Today, the day before the deadline, I finally get an email from Ford that my build was finalized.....except its not the vehicle I ordered.

I call Paul the Haldeman’s sales manager and he tells me they used my original “hard to get” FE reservation number and timestamp to order another customer a vehicle, but don’t worry, I’ll still get my car eventually.

So he took my deposit and has been lying to me from the first minute I walked to the dealership to finalize my order. Now, I lost my timestamp and have someone else’s car reserved in my name, res number, and in the MyFord app.

After waiting this long, I’m not letting this go. If not made very goddamn right, Ill make sure all reservations are cancelled and will cancel my own rather than getting screwed here.

Not that it should matter, but I’ve bought roughly 15 trucks for my business from Haldeman 33 over past few years and this is how I was treated.

I actually went out of my way to send them this order out of a general sense of loyalty when there’s much better dealers far more convenient to my home. Wont make that mistake again, or ever send them any of my business.

If anyone else is having similar issues, the right people to contact in corporate are:

I know people give him a hard time but I promise you get this to Levine, Michael (M.) <[email protected]>

He will fix it. He had already fixed a bunch of other issues people have had.

Blacklisted....

Crap....and I applaud you make the dealership an example.

I’m Ford through and through like you, and situations like this is what gives a bad name. If it was a first time buyer they would never even look at another Ford.

Corporate Ford as of the new change over (a much needed change back to a real car man)has made it clear this kind of behavior is not tolerated.

So his buddy is getting your FE and you are getting his buddys late res? I would absolutely be calling Ford and demanding they make it right. I would also be getting in contact with the owner of the dealership to let him know he has a thief working for him. What an a hole. Hearing this bothers me so much that I'm inclined to contact them to let them know that that salesman just smeared the dealerships name to thousands of Ford customers. Hurt them where it counts and they have no choice but to fire that low life!

That is infuriating...what a groups of scumbags. I’d make it my mission to hurt them as much as you can. The bad thing is that I bet this is happening a lot more than people realize.

That sucks.

A couple good news points I want to get out of the way first:

1. Ford corporate can manually modify timestamps, meaning by working with Ford, people have successfully made new reservations with trustworthy dealers, and had their original timestamp applied so they maintained their place in line.

2. Tomorrow is the deadline to be considered for builds in the first 3 months of production, but it’s not a deadline to order. Worst case scenario it takes more than 24 hours to work out, you’ll potentially have to wait a little longer to get your Bronco. Depending on parts availability that may have been the case anyway.

Tomorrow you need to call the Bronco team directly at (800) 334-4375 and let them know what happened. They should be able to quickly direct you to make a new reservation and make a ticket to get your time stamp corrected.

There’s even a chance that tomorrow you’ll be able to make and convert a reservation with a new dealer under the deadline for the first three months of production, and Ford will get your timestamp edited soon enough that there’s basically no delay in when you’d get your Bronco.

That would then just leave the issue of your deposit you’ll need to get back, and potentially another deposit with the new dealer.

Now, did the dealer place a new different order in your name? So you have basically two active orders now? Or are they just sitting on your build without converting it?

I’m assuming you don’t want to do business with them. If you were interested in doing business with them still, Ford’s ability to modify a timestamp still applies... so if the dealer did make a new order, it would conceivably be possible to tie it to you and get you your place back... but that doesn’t leave any consequences for the dealer.

I agree with other comments. You need to get Ford corporate involved. If the order they placed is under your reservation number from what I've been told by others on the forum there can still be changes made after tomorrow. Hopefully they can not only get your reservation/order back under your name but also let you transfer to a dealer that is more deserving of your business.

Edit: see ZachDanger's response for even better detail which was posted right before I posted

1. Get on phone with Ford and have them make it right.

2. Go to shady dealer and unload on the sales manager(I've done this one before). Get your deposit back.

3. Blast shady dealers social media making sure people know how big of a piece of shit they are.

Did you get the MyFord FE order? I would be on the phone with a Lawyer as well as Ford Customer Relations. They can't take your name off the reservation so maybe when the FE shows up you should walk in and take it home.

Check with your Attorney General. May well fall within identity theft statutes in your state. In the short time, contact Mike and the Bronco specialist team to try to sort it out , and hoping you have the email with your reservation # you may be able to cancel it, make a new one, transfer your reservation time stamp, have that dealer lose allotment and piss off the customer that they promised it to. Go Big, but be nice to the horse they rode in on...
