Thoughts on sound deadening for the hard-top?

Anybody have/ridden in a Jeep with it? Without?

Asking b/c I rode in a hard-top 4dr Wrangler...
it had a plastic-y echo on the inside...
felt like being in a small hallway or something.

Is it worth putting the sound deadening inside?
Sometimes I like listening to music...

I posted a while back that everyone needs to drive a jeep wrangler before deciding they want a bronco and so many idiots tried to shit all over that.

people don't understand vehicles here

Yup. annoying sound. Def worth attempting to sound deaden. I am sure there are lots of options out there.

I must be the odd man out here. Never had an issue with my hard top. It's a Wrangler and it will never be car quiet. You can check on Wranglerforum.com and see what others have done. I know there is a post there of a guy who stripped his entire JK and sound deadened the whole thing, then installed a high end sound system himself.

I don't think anyone on here who's owned a Wrangler cares (myself included). But you'll notice that there are a ton of people on here who, oddly enough, never cared about Jeeps.

FWIW - 2 of my die hard Jeep buddies who currently own a Gladiator (soft top) and new Wrangler hard top both urged me to get sound deadening if it's offered. They also claimed that the noise in the gladiator's soft top is quieter than the hard top wrangler.

Wranglers are notoriously noisy - especially the soft tops. I plan on getting the hard top with the sound deadening option.

I added the panels to my Jeep JK. Makes the interior a much more pleasant place to spend time.

Jeep is still noisy, but there’s less echo (you don’t necessarily notice it until it’s gone).
Also, on hot sunny days you don’t get the heat radiating off from the roof onto your head, and the Jeep doesn’t cool down as quick on the cold days.

I’ll be spec’ing a hardtop on the Bronco, and the panels (either oem or aftermarket) are a no-brainer for me

It's not only the sound factor, but also heat penetration. That's a big deal here in AZ.

Hotheads headliners is the goto for Jeeps, much better than Mopar option. Not sure how the Ford offering will pan out.

Sound deadening is different from heat penetration, but I had the MOPAR headliners in my Wrangler that worked real well. I know it's hotter where you're at, but SW Florida is pretty dang hot also.

I'll likely end up dynamat'ing the doors, underneath of the modular panels, and underneath the plastic floors of my BD just for the heck of it. Unless, of course, Ford offers this as an option just like Jeep does for the roof. I'd find it hard to believe Ford wouldn't.
