The installation date for my ARB dual compressor (100% duty cycle) finally arrived for my 2021 "unicorn" bronco. I had a local shop (Asheville Vehicle Outfitters) do the installation. This is the same 2 door Bronco that had the rear seats deleted from an earlier thread of mine.

The compressor was installed to the underside of the body, centered and towards the rear:

It was mounted by drilling holes up through the body and bolting everything in, underneath the rear factory carpet.

The output air line was run to a quick disconnect port on the rear bumper using braided tubing, and comes out on the drivers side above the license plate:

So when you need to air up you can just plug in the hose:

And turn on aux switch 1:

Eventually I will be upgrading the front and rear bumpers with steel versions, but that will have to wait until later. I also plan to buy or make one of the 4-way inflater hoses so I can air up all tires to the same PSI at the same time. This is a 100% duty cycle compressor, so no worries about overheating or cool down cycles on larger tire sizes.

Did you consider mounting it in the engine bay?
I did, but I didn't like any of the possible engine mount locations. The engine bay is pretty messy and the dual compressor is a bit fat. There was unused space here under the body, and it's closer to the rear where I wanted the quick connect port. Time will tell if this was a good location or not..

Clean install. Any particular reasoning behind using the only 30amp switch available to activate it when it, in all intents and purposes, is only firing a relay?

Get the ARB remote air kit for that and get those air filters moved into a safe dry place.

Curious what you've seen from your own crew and also customers in terms of compressor life on these ARB units when they are mounted in locations which will see being fully submerged, lots of water, mud and impacts?

I've got the ARB twin on my short list but intend an engine-bay mount with aerospace grade quick disconnects on the terminals so that for daily driving I don't subject the compressor to constant heat cycles.

Or are these units so bulletproof that you're getting 5-10 years hard life out of them without issue?

My understanding of the install is that the aux switch triggers the relay on the compressor side, and the power is pulled from the battery directly:

Ford Bronco Hardmounted ARB dual compressor with quick connect port installed 0586CBB3-17A2-4F30-BC0B-5701B72D9E16

There seem to be two fuses. I assume that is one per compressor:

Ford Bronco Hardmounted ARB dual compressor with quick connect port installed 28494F82-381F-4315-9E2B-248B642E6A62

I was told by the installers that Ford doesn't map a specific wire harness wire to a specific switch, but they deadend everything to a single location in the engine bay so you can connect to the switch of your choice.

I assume that is what this is:
