Hardtop Compatible with Roof Rails?

Do the roof rails need to have the rear roof panel in place in order to have an attachment point, or can they attach to the sport bar?

They attach to the rear “clam shell” roof over the cargo area (and the top of the windshield). Nothing we’ve seen or heard indicate they can attach to the sport bar (or to the soft top).

I think you need to have the hard top attached but hopefully aftermarket will handle this which is why i am holding off on any accessories from factory.
