Eliminating as much wire as possible is key to making any aftermarket add on look & function great. In the video I show you guys how to hardwire your dash camera or radar detector with a simple little connector. Hope this helps many of you out there.

I've done this on all my cars and just finished on Bronco. ALWAYS best option. Both my Escort and my multichannel dash cam are hidden. the radar comes on with ignition. the cam is always on. I still have the AR dash rail (mini) to connect phone and any other gizmos down the line (plus it looks cool)

Thanks for sharing this. I think this is actually what I need for my dash camera. Other similar plug & play options don't have the right connector for my BlackVue camera, but this looks like it does.

just remember if you use THIS specific dongle, it won't be able to record in sentry mode (it will be off when the ignition is off)

Thanks, and good call out too - Totally fine with that. I've never used that mode anyways.

Now I just need to find a Canadian vendor that sells this

Let’s see that hidden radar detector.

Bro, you're not kidding. I've been here awhile now watching people link to this and it really does go in and out of stock like nobodies business.
Yep... I lucked out and found it in stock one day right before Christmas... jumped on it... next day they were all gone...

For anyone thinking of buying the RJ11 connectors, the prongs on the positive and negative wires are SUPER fragile. You'll have to be extra careful when nudging those into the openings of mirror connection. I broke my positive-end prong after a few tries to wedge it in. After researching Amazon I have a different brand on order that looks a bit sturdier.
