Has anyone set up the harken hoist for a 2dr yet? How crucial is the length since I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on the web and I would like to install it prior to bringing the bronco home.

Thx I think I got it but considering a pool noodle to help the back window gasket

Thats why I went with the 2 inch straps instead of the harken ones. These are very soft and spread the load out pretty well:

Big Autoparts 2 Pcs Lifting Sling 6 feet by 2 inch Strong Loop Lift Sling 9000 lbs Breaking Force and 3000 lbs Pulling Force Webbing Tow Straps Apply for Vertical Choker BasketTie Down Strap,Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PMD6NX...abc_ZMRXWJNBB03GST7K1HAS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

4 inch snap hooks to make them quick release:

Just installed mine last week. Fully satisfied; works great. I share the concern about straps damaging the rubber seals over time. Not inclined to swap straps, but might try the pool noodle.

Pretty crucial. You want to lift up not out. 2Dr or 4?

Thanks for the info. I've been kicking around options since October, the Bronco arrived on November 12, and today I decided to go with your setup. Powered solutions are slick...until they fail. Manual seems like the best option for the limited season I have to go open air driving.

If you have any other pointers, hints, or gotchas to avoid during install/use, let me know!

For a 2 door those straps and snap rings are perfect length. Not sure on the 4. The easiest way to get the lengths correct is to tie them in the up position.

mines perfect:

I did a full video of the install of my Harken Hoister for the 2 Door Bronco. Over on my build thread if anyone is interested. I did 53" spacing of the hooks front to rear and 48" wide hooks on the front and 47" wide on the back that gave me the 2" on each side they recommend. Link to thread with video here.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I am a few hours away for sure, up near McKinney in the Metroplex. Hopefully you can find a good handyman close by to do it for you. Not a bad job at all.
